Boy, that Michael Dal Colle is really lighting up the NHL after being taken just 3 spots after Sam...
Sam Bennett too. How did we ever pass on him?
No one is "happy" with Sam's production, but looking at most of the guys taken in the 3 spots after him, only 1 is any good, and Sam is way better than the other 2.
It can always be worse.
The problem is the NHL has been spoiled by McDavid and Eichel and Matthews and even Draisaitl to an extent that it skews our way of thinking on young players and their production. - Wetbandit1
And like I pointed out on the previous thread...
guys develop at different rates
In years 2 & 3 after they were drafted
Sam’s stats > Henrik Sedin
Pominville wasn’t even a full time NHLer until 5.5yrs after he was drafted
I don’t think Sam needs to be a 70pt player right now
Rough start this year,
I’m not excusing it...
but let’s see how he finishes up
As long as he keeps improving,
I’m cool with it
*also cool with trading him, but it’s gotta be for the right price. I’m not just dumping him bc Draisaitl is scoring more
How can they sue you if a law is in place ? - GERBE!!!75PTS
For one, that's just not how the law works. For two, anyone can sue anyone, even if the claims don't have merit. You still have to defend the lawsuit.
You're also forgetting that it's unlawful to run over pedestrians. On top of that, we don't have negligence per se here, so the fact that a person violated a law does not automatically mean they are at fault. It would be evidence at trial that the finder of fact can consider when apportioning fault, though.
Also, I'm a lawyer in Honolulu, so you can take my word on this one.

Fair enough fitz, guys develop at different rates. Gmtm said that when sam was drafted. Maybe it's just me, but it's the lack of enthusiasm after we score too. Could be his personality.

I guess the 2 Sam's and dall colle were the only 3 guys drafted in 2014. I dont care about the other couple busts, Draisaitl looks pretty good.
"If sam was picked 20th we would all think he's great" Problem is we threw away a whole season for him, and he went 2nd. It's a fact. - Boss34
Yes, but only Draisaitl was even remotely considered for that pick and is better than Sam. Everyone had Reinhart as a top 3 pick. Hindsight is always 20/20.

Look into the HDHomerun tuner and HDHomerun DVR service. You plug the cable into the tuner, which plugs into your network router. You can then stream cable on virtually every device in your home. - buffalofan19
The coax doesn't have a good enough signal for cable. Fine for internet, but not for cable, and my landlord doesn't want any new holes and there's no way Spectrum is going to re-wire a building on their dime, so I have to use the Spectrum app to watch TV.

I remember hearing about the German Wayne Gretzky.

Ladanian Tomlinson just handed the ball to the official after he scored. He never celebrated. Is he poop too?
We get it, you don't like him, but you're trying awfully hard to find things to say he's not good that have no bearing on his play.

Yeah, like I said. He's the only one that's better than Sam that was even remotely considered for the 2nd pick. It was always the 2 Sams and then Draisaitl. And then there was a chasm. If they picked Nylander 2nd Murray would've been fired on the spot. Drafting 18 year old kids isn't an exact science. Sure we should've taken Draisaitl. But we also could've taken Bennett.
It's not like he pulled a Sweeney and went off the board for 3 straight picks.

Just watched the Top10 countdown of best hockey nicknames...
10- Dave THE HAMMER Schultz
9- CAPTAIN SERIOUS Jonathan Toews
8- Maurice THE ROCKET Richard
7- Terry TAZ O’Reilly
6- Mark THE MOOSE Messier
5- Bobby Hull THE GOLDEN JET
4- THE DOMINATOR Dominick Hasek
3- THE GREAT ONE Wayne Gretzky

I’d have Gretzky 2nd & move Richard up to 5th
Who’s missing though?
Pavel Bure, THE RUSSIAN ROCKET, came to mind right away
Rob RAYZOR Ray is pretty good, but he wasn’t good enough a player to make it
Throw some more out there - jdfitz77
The Bulin Wall
The Rat
Punch Imlach
Chico Resch
Vaclav Get Dumped and Slide Into the Goalie While Not Scoring Varada.

Columbus took Pierre Luc Dubois instead of JP and that was off the wall. If it works it’s a great move. If not it’s a bad move. Bottom line. You are judged on what you do, not whether it was hard or not.
