You know the game was a dud when a good chunk of the highlights package is dressing room shots, guys coming out of the tunnel and the warmup skate.
Is anyone looking forward to paying $150 per ticket plus transportation and concessions to see the Wild when they come to town for the rematch?
The NHL is still largely gate-driven isn't it? What does the salary cap look like in 5 years when the fans have turned their backs on this grossly-overpriced product? What happens to teams like Edmonton who have signed stars to huge max term deals? If you've got one player taking up a third or more of the cap they'll be unable to afford the support they need to be successful.
I suspect we may soon see another expansion team and a few other franchises sold so owners can take advantage of the market before it collapses. - YeOldTimer
The league will probably do something about it. My guess is lower max contracts, and allow teams with high contracts to pay out the difference. Knock McDavid to a 9m contract but as a result the loss of 3.5m for the remaining years gets auto paid to him. This would make the most sense. |

Average ticket for a lakers or steelers game is around 130. Those players get paid much more. It's more and more for wealthy to watch, always been for the wealthy to play. |

Why hate any of our players? They're playing their hearts out for US. Support them! You can have your favs, but don't fill your heart with hate for our brothers.

There are also huge differences in cap as well as team sizes. |

Not a Stecher hater.. I think he could be a good bottom 6-7 d-man if he was properly developed, in a development league............oh, right I forgot the NHL is now considered a development league by some.
The same for Hutton and Virtanen, but what does my opinion mean...SFA. |

You're right, there are three times as many players on an NFL team, around half on a basketball team. I was just articulating that high prices probably arent going anywhere and the cap wont shrink. Worse comes to worse, they threaten to move to the team like they are in Calgary and did in Edmonton a few years back. |

Hey sunshine, I'm going to get on board with your optimistic outlook, after a quick calculation the team only has to go 42-30-1 to get into the playoffs if the cut is 96pts.
Totally doable for this underrated, juggernaut group of high end professionals...Playoffs Baby...yeah, believe it, playoffs baby |

Personally, statistics support only one of those three players getting sent down due to actual turnover rate and how they negatively effect the game from shots/possession standpoint. I'll give you one guess - neem55
Pfft, you still using statistics to back your opinions, statistics is sooo last year, |

We've got enough "eye test pro's" on this board to make me wonder if I should invest in opening a Lasik laser eye surgery |
