So the Yanks canned Girardi. Damn, one game short of the World Series and buh-bye. That's harsh.

he's actually having a pretty damn fine season on STL's top line.

That's impossible. Schenn is not good at ES.

Technically his contract ran out and I have heard rumblings that Girardi did not want to manage strictly by analytics, which is what the Yankees are looking for now.

Dont be surprised to see Girardi wearing red pinstripes next season.

Yeah, both hands and feet. Weird thing, my feet are completely numb. I have a wound healing on the bottom of one that was 1/2 inch deep.i feel severe pain in both

Man, I played ice and floor hockey for 15 years or so and I've spent nearly 40 years in a job that often includes some heavy lifting. I'm thankful that in all that time the worst I ever did was pull some muscles and break a few bones. The only lingering issue is 3 bulging disks in my back.

Sadly, like MB, I have some ear issues too due to way to many loud concerts and bar shows and playing in a bunch of heavy metal garage bands in my late teens and early 20s.

All that aside, I can't even imagine what you guys and players like Pronger, Lindros and Primeau have gone through. I hope things get better with time.

Maybe, though rumors are it's between Wathan and someone from the Red Sox organization. But I'd be fine with Girardi too.

One other weird thing is that sometimes, in complete silence, the ringing in my ears gets so pronounced that I start to get nauseous. When sleeping i need multiple fans going at different speeds to get different tones so I can listen to something. Since the ringing in my ears is also in multiple frequencies.

Ugh, that truly sucks. I've pretty much lost the ability to hear some high frequencies in both ears due to noise damage, but now, like you, I use ear protection if I'm going to be hearing loud music so I rarely get the ringing. Thankfully pretty much everything I play is acoustic so it's not too loud.

I wish 31 year old me could go tell 13 year old me to wear earplugs while playing drums. "It even sounds better ya dummy!"

My ears aren't that bad yet, but I definitely have some dizziness/vertigo that I'm convinced is partly due to the years I played without earplugs, and just from loud concerts/music in general. Been lucky on the concussion front, haven't had one. I've also been extremely lucky thus far, especially as a cyclist commuter. Had my first crash last October where someone pulled out in front of me and I went straight into them, but escaped with a swollen shin.

I commuted by bike in NYC, and once hit a patch of oil in brooklyn where I banged my head pretty nice, was woozy, but not convinced that it was anything serious. No lingering effects. Thinking about what a guy like Lindros must've felt (and probably still feels) from his concussions is just...wow.

I can relate and all others who have issues. I have significant hearing loss and my balance system is not normal. Some days are okay and some are really bad. Severity comes and goes. When I turn my head to fast or change positions it can trigger it. When I get up from laying down, I have to close my eyes for about 5 seconds for my balance system to get back to normal.

Wow, that sucks. Do you feel it in your hands and feet? I sometimes get that burning sensation in my leg and strangely, in the upper middle of my back near the spine. Pins and needles always in the same spot, usually after some physical exertion.

This muscle could be part of your issue:

It's not easy to stretch either. Here's more and good luck!

Thanks. It does suck but I get through it. Even though I have this condition, I still realize that I'm alive and have a great family and am still a lot better off than a lot of people are in this World with far more serious conditions.

I woke up on Saturday, and had planned to do my first bike ride up Mt. Lemmon, but was just absolutely dizzy and don't really know why. Pounded water all morning, that wasn't it, ended up cancelling my ride and sleeping for about four hours and felt better when I woke up. But yea, I'm sure it's an inner ear issue for me.

I definitely don't listen to music as loud as I used to, and also always wear ear plugs for live shows, but damage is done I think. My hearing isn't as bad as my old man's (concrete truck driver for years, apparently it's a loud business), but if there is any kind of background noise, and someone tries to speak to me, forget about it. Girlfriend always tries to talk to me from different rooms in the house and I'm always having to tell her I can't hear her.

I suspect that the fact I played in the 18 and over checking league until I was 40 and broke my leg on the last game of the season may have played a part in it. Gotta say, knowing what I know now I would have had better equipment sooner and done it all over.
