Wow, I never played ice without a helmet and a shield. As an adult playing floor, the league required helmets but shields were optional. I didn't wear one, which was asinine looking back. Luckily all it cost me was one chipped tooth and a couple of fat lips.

Figured that part out quick. I broke my nose twice and then broke my front tooth. Dental bills set me straight. Got a good helmet and full cage. Didn't have to worry about sticks and pucks again.

Absolutely. I've been really lucky thus far but couldn't justify it anymore. Problem is I like to yap a little bit and that has been toned down considerably with this cage thing.
