Is JVR playing tomorrow? Trying to set my fantasy lineup.
- rmiethaner

Speaking of JVR...

I was thinking that instead of going after Tavares (who probably stays in NY or heads to stupid Toronto)...

What if we signed BOTH Carlson & JVR to 6mil per free agent deals?

JVR-Eichel-Pominville
Bailey-O’Reilly-Okposo
Kane-Reinhart-Nylander
Larsson-Girgensons-Baptiste

Scandella-CARLSON
McCabe-Ristolainen
Guhle-Antipin
Beaulieu

YES, the $$$ works
As long as we trade Moulson, which has been pointed out not being an issue bc he is only owed 2mil in real $$$ next year (making him attractive to a Cap Floor team)
And (this might be tougher) trade Bogosian

Sam at 2.5 for 2yrs
Kane at 6mil per

Leaves just over 5.5mil to re-sign Lehner,
or bring in another goalie

Does adding Carlson & Guhle help the defense ENOUGH though?

I'll give you 3 guesses, but I think you'll probably need only one.

I normally do agree with your knowledge of this team Mr Author, BUT I will agree to disagree with your points. After 2 wins, the put up a whopping one goal over 6 periods against two 2nd tier teams. Two days off later, San Jose rolls in at the end of a 5 game road trip and all though "the effort was there" they come out with the "L". Good teams find a way to win. They are simply NOT good. Still believe the culture of losing is there. The fan base has been waiting 47 years to win, Today....NOW, not 2-3 more years. I think the organization is jinxed. Broke beyond repair. And the examples in the short can go ON and ON and ON as far as you replay their performance, even before the "tank". They suck, they are unwatchable and even listenable on the radio. Ill put this same question out that I did on MARTHa's blog..."How bad does this team REALLY look when most of the other teams take it off coast mode and put it in playoff mode come FEB/MAR??

Your 2nd line winger , 22 years old at 2.5 x 2 years. After having (2) 40 plus point seasons. Gonna cost way more.
2.5 That's foligno money. 3rd or 4th line $

Coaching change? Is it Housley's fault that most of the players on this team cannot stickhandle while skating and cannot pass the puck to a teammates stick. It is clear by their play, that the players who lack speed and skill refuse to improve on those areas but still want the big raise when the contract expires. Long time Sabres fans...can you believe it is come to this after watching an exciting competitive club like they were in the 1970s?
- sabreadvocate1

Housley is a SOFT CUPCAKE, just like when he was here as a player. Nashville had success with Laviolete as a strict coach. Team needed Tocchet, but they hired Phyllis to keep the "Retred" fans (and I think from your 1970 comment) like you, Happy. "Reap What You Sow"

And after Atlanta he was telling us why they were still bad despite the wins.

It doesn't help that once Ruff left we've had 4 coaches in the 4 and a half years since his departure. You can't have that kind of turnover and expect results.

You cannot blame Housley for the lack of talent this team has. Give him some time with new players and see what he does. If there is no improvement then he can go as well. I don't care what coach played where, all I want is to see this team become a contender and win a cup. I don't know where you got retred fan from my post.

You mean the coach of the team that is 0-10-1?

You'd think that was the Sabres record the way people talk around here.

That's just how it goes. Until Irish's terrible week last week I had the most points scored against me and a loss of 1.1 points. It's hard to win when that stuff happens.
