It is not unreasonable to assume that a guy who scored 76pts in 50g in the KHL was promised a roster spot on an expansion team.

I believe Antipin has a one way contract, and that was part of his deal to coming here was it not?

I think its a pretty low risk/high reward scenario for the sabres, if they can use it to pry someone else out of vegas also

A one way contract is all about what a player gets paid

A one way contract means a player would get paid the same in the AHL as he would in the NHL.

Nothing about where a player will play.

After this year his NMC becomes a modified NTC.

Moved after July 1st 2018 the team aquiring him would only be on the hook for $23 mil over 5 years.

I'd assume a player with a terminated contract means he's free to sign elsewhere, unless it's just so he can go back to Russia.
