I appreciate it, but this has been a team effort. Makita has been just as responsible for the turnaround here of late, and the rest of the posters are doing their part as well
- WhiteLie

then why is it that we still have crap from marwood then?

I played a high/competitive level of soccer for most of my life, and also played a bit of everything else through my life. Soccer is the hardest cardio-wise, I think, and hockey is tough as it's more like full body sprints... you don't need the longevity of soccer, but you need the allover explosiveness in short bursts. Probably more like football in that manner.

Although, I recently started swimming, and holy hell that's a completely different thing. I can still run 15km, but can just manage 500m or so of swimming so far.

I have played Organized Soccer, Rugby, Ice Hockey, Voodoo Style Roller hockey and baseball. At least 3 yrs of each. 20 yrs of Rep Soccer (Metro then DIV1)

Rugby, I believe is the hardest Cardio Wise. It combines Football and Soccer, adding physicality to the endurance factor with not very many stoppages.

poop. This is definitely me. No money, no friends, no degree, no woman, no career path, just my mom's basement, lotion and Kleenex

Thanks Pres.cup

Ive been ignoring it for months. Things crossed the line today and I had enough.
Im just fed up up with the fact these people are allowed to act the way they do and nothing ever happens to them.
Its a biased place. Not pointing any fingers at you at all though. I personally think you've been much more impartial than makita. I was a little concerned when you came on but I think you've done well, at least from what Ive seen.

yes I saw. Just dont know if this actually applies to marwood and pres.cup's trolling this time or not. I have serious doubts that it will, Ive had a few years of history to say it wont.

On - A) I don't believe they're very talented as a group (except Horvat/Boeser/Pouliot and maybe Baertschi) B) I believe they'll finish out of the playoffs

Just because I happen to not like the current mix of players, outside of a few, doesn't mean I hate everything Canucks or that I don't like their future. It simply means I don't really like where they sit, however, I'm hopeful in a few of the kids they've assembled and I believe better days are ahead.

If we had a better GM they'd be even further ahead...but that's water under the bridge.

- LeftCoaster

I can agree on your A B points but JB imo has done a solid job so far. Idk what other GM out there could do much better given the situation he inherited. Sure we could seek perfection but overall the transituon we r seeing gets a passing grade.

Vantel is responsible for about 60% of the posts in Carol's thread. If you need a canuck chat, no matter the time of day, Vantel's got your back.

What would we do without him?

Conversely, it's strange that people are ridiculed for saying anything negative about the Canucks. You can enjoy their current streak and play but still be unhappy with certain elements of the team or it's management.
- LeftCoaster

Whether ppl r negative or positive here is one thing but the lack of patience awaiting the cavalry of prospects happens too often. Revisionary history or nit picking the management group becomes tedious. It really gets overplayed & overanalyzed. Other than the LE contract & the value we have yet to see the Canucks r doing a solid job of building for the future.

On another note, I think today is a sad day for HB, JJ is leaving as the Blackhawks blogger, I've always enjoyed his blogs, it was a good rivalry between Vancouver and Chicago in the past.

Hope he does well going forward.

- Makita

JJ will be missed. His blogs i found to be very good & without the homerism.

This is where I am at, I agree with this all except I do believe that this is still a bottom 3 team. Hot start, but unless the Sedin's wake up I think teams will start matching up the kids more regularly and the lack of depth will hurt them
- WhiteLie

Offense from our D will be our biggest downfall. Idk if we r a bottom 3 team or not but i also cannot claim we r not either.

Don't underestimate hockey's cardio effect. I play once in a while with friends out at UBC and a friend of a friend from California joined us. He was in a roller-hockey league but never played on ice. He could skate but not well.

Sitting next to him on the bench I've never seen a guy sweat so much. He looked at me and said "I've played them all but I've never felt so drained as I do now".

And man did he ever look wrecked. It's a sport that requires everything you've got; stamina, strength, agility, toughness, coordination, balance, vision, etc, etc.

- bloatedmosquito

I found there was nothing like skating hard for 20-30secs sucked the wind out me like hockey. Lactic acid build up & recovery was harder than anything i experienced. Boxing came the closest.

I think you've felt it more than most but I think it's more general frustration with the current canuck situation. Since 2012 many have grown very cynical of the NHL as a whole.

But if people dismissed it or just laughed it off when criticised then it would get a whole lot better in here. It's the hurt feelings that cause so much problems.

Same goes with trolls. Trolls are fun and when you grow tired of them you ignore and they go away.

Everyone should know by now the internet is not a place to go for serious, thoughtful, or friendly exchanges. That's what your friends and family are for. The internet is a cesspool and should be treated as such. Treat the internet like you would Granville Street on a Friday night.

Thats a very well penned statement.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Just realized that we are only one win behind LVGK for second place in our division!

But then I realized we've played one more game then they have.

It will be an uphill battle but I think we can catch them.

Journey said it best!

It's why I see no reason to pursue another C. Canucks will have too many good ones and one will have to be traded or moved to the wing so it makes zero sense to draft, sign or trade for another one.

Thanks LordHumungous!

- Nucker101

Pieces that can be moved around are a good thing. If there's an opportunity to upgrade at C, why wouldn't you explore that?

He was pretty good, I still think Carol is the best on HB though.
