ever take it out to Renfrew? How are they on logging roads? I know you all are going to love this, but I'm against owning a truck unless it's for work or because you own a boat. I just think its a waste environmentally-bring it on climate change deniers!

I live up north where trucks are needed for gathering firewood, driving in snow, hauling travel trailers, disposing of excess garbage, hunting etc.
Bought my first truck 3 years ago, out of necessity.
What might work in the city, doesn't work in other areas of province.
No, I am not a climate change denier, also, we are not privileged like lower mainland folks too have an extensive transportation system provided to us.

Do not know what happened today or why there is drama. Logged on now to get a break from the real life crap. Don't talk about personal stuff but today was harsh. Maybe some PTSD from 911 added to it. But was on way to coach the kids when the attack happened by terrorist across the field. Someone we know was killed. For respect to family will just leave it at that. So hope all can just keep things in perspective and enjoy the get away here for Canuck talk.

On that note. Whatever spectrum of fan views on team level or talent anyone falls into about Canucks. It seems that, everyone had good things to say about the team after a loss. Think about that. The team play has changed enough that an impression is made in the positive. Baby steps. Win or lose something looks different in a good way.

I heard about the attack at 11 last night, tragic and senseless to me, hard to understand why innocent people pay for political policies or decisions.

Since you put this out there in this public forum I'm going to respond with what I hope will assist you. I have spend many years as a rescue specialist and I have been involved in several tragic and traumatic situations. I had a hard time processing events at the beginning and at the end of my career in that field. I had to seek professional help to deal with the trauma that continued to layer one after the other. After I stopped being a rescue specialist, I went on to volunteer for 11 years as a front line asset to assist other rescue personal in what they dealing with, and how to process the emotions their body and minds were having to deal with.

I would strongly recommend that you seek out a professional clinician, you need to deal with what happened in the past as well as yesterday, today or tomorrow could bring a whole new set of events.

Ok, I have a bad feeling about the next few games for the Canucks, I have seen a few others post that they also think the team could go 2-7-1 or something similar in the next 10 games.

I'm going to go on a limb and predict if the Team beats NJ tonight, the go on a 6-3-1 run.

No high expectations this season, it's also likely at some point(s)

Just part of the process

I agree – I expect them to lose, so winning is just a fun part of it.

I'm sure they'll go on a slide at some point in the season... I'm thinking just before or after the Christmas break is when they'll lose some steam. But then they'll ounce back, then down, then up. At least they're competing!

They're in a tough spot. Playing well, yet lots of empty seats. Damned if you do...

I supplement my hockey with WHL & BCHL, which is also a great product

I heard the atmosphere at the Dallas game was amazing. High energy and enthusiastic crowd even though the lower bowl had heaps of empty seats.
I guess real fans are going again as opposed to coporate wanks and Yaletown posers.

You do know that the rate earth minerals used in electric cars are strip mining large swaths of the earth. Causing untold amounts of deforestation etc...

The ac in your luxury car is killing the atmosphere.

The leather seats are causing cows to be ashamed of their nakedness as well as elevating bovine cold's in the winter.

The magnets in the high powered stereos are contributing to the earth magnetic field switching which will be apocalyptic.

Bare bone trucks are the only answer.

I do haul boats, excavators and livestock. I do have a car.... they suck, I just have to trucks as well, or propane and one diesel. Gasoline is for girly guys, nothing wrong with that.

They have an apathy issue that's going to take some time to turnaround.

I think some people see it as losing with a purpose. So as fun as it may be others will find it frustrating.

Some definitely will, and it's a tough line to walk down. It's been beaten to death in here (how to lose/tank properly), and there are so many variables that everyone will have a slightly different take: best environment to develop prospects, best chance of draft position, fickleness of the fans, assuredness of a rebuild, short term versus long term plan, TDL considerations/flips, etc.

Whatever happens happens this season: they lose, great! They win, cool! I think they're doing a good job between developing what they have (on the team and in Utica) and playing an exciting game that's competitive for the players and enjoyable for the fans.

Personally, I'd rather see them miss the playoffs this year and get one more high draft before being in the mix next year for a spot.

Solid post. I agree but would like to see two more seasons with a high draft position. Couple more dynamic forwards would make me very happy and it would allow JB to control his choices in rounds 2 thru 7.

Good on you for seeking help and good advice here. Many don't seek help or counsel and it compounds and compounds and can eventually turn in to something that can't be controlled. I am dealing with a mental illness issue in the family right now and we have sought professional and medical help. As always (in most cases) getting past what is considered to be the denial stage and asking for help is the biggest step.

On the Nucks I have a feeling the honeymoon phase is going to end soon. As injuries compound and the schedule tightens up I can see a lot of our games going the way of the Dallas game a few nights back. Where we outplay teams nut just can't outscore them...but time will tell.

I am liking the Vanek Pouliot Nilsson MDZ and even a bit of Gagner lately. Hopefully that lucky goal gets Gagner rolling.

Green really needs to plant Boeser in the 'Ovechkin zone' on the PP and let him do his thing.

I'll say 4-3 Jersey OT.

I think he's still looking for that #1/PP d-man as well. Would love it if we won the lotto one of these years, that sure would help

Either way, 1-2 more years... can't be dragging their feet after that, that ends up like the pre-McDavid Oilers.

Those single points are a killer to those who want to see a tank. It's a moral victory for the team but 1 point for a loss sucks when you don't want your team competing for a playoff spot during a rebuild.

Not sure...Boeser sat with an injury last game see what happens tonight.

Here's an interesting figure: Boeser has 21- 5/5 chances in just eight games and ranks him 6th ahead of the likes of Ovenchicken, Matthews and Tarasenko...

Maybe 5/5 scoring is the answer...

Granlund's starting to grow on me. I like his versatility. When needed, you can sub him in on most lines. Seems to be able to play with most players on this roster.

I read in an article a couple days ago the Vancouver media guys (Botch?) asking Green about this, and Green just sort of laughed and basically insinuated that Boeser plays more of a rover... just flows around to where he wants.

I'd like to see him in that spot more often though, especially for that one timer.
