I don't know that that's even it. I think this is just all part of the "process" that they had in mind right from the start. The fact that the team has done well doesn't seem to have affected the overall game plan (or at least it doesn't seem like it to me).
They knew the WR corps needed work. This deal was there so they took it. The timing makes it look one way, but I think overall it's just part of the plan they had in place prior to the season starting. Upgrade positions at times when the opportunity presents itself. |
