That part is debatable on asset management perspective. Having one year term is not restrictive and gives the GM another chance for the gamble on giving up higher futures. - Nuck4U
When it's 2.65M for a depth player then I'm guessing they'd probably prefer him to be an expiring deal just in case he sucks for them.
Burrows got the same return as Hansen and we all know who was better the last 2-3 years here. |

This team will have no problem surviving an Edler trade. Do it. Guddy is better than him now...

Crap, I though Edler contract expired with Sedins, one moreover season
Note, I like Edler, he’s been a great Canuck, just time to hand the torch is all. |

I've been soft on him through his struggles. Still am. I still wanted to convert him into youth for a couple of years now.

That's one way to look at it and don't begrudge expiring contracts are easier to absorb. But will counter with the perspective on assets. Since you mentioned Hansen. Didn't work out for Sharks. They don't look like this season will either despite being used on 1st line. But GM can say okay it didn't pay off for us but come TDL I'll sell Hanson to someone who can use him. This will recover something for giving up Goldy. That's what that extra year on term can buy them. |

I wouldn't go that far.
Its a shooting gallery when Gudbranson is on the ice. |

This season, statistically, Possession wise gudbranson has been better.
Edler corsi for is 38.9
Guddy's corsi for is 39.6
Just some numbers.
I respectfully disagree with your opinion but I do support the idea and theory that you are both entitled to have and to share any wrong, incorrect or accurate opinion that you choose to share, whether defensible or otherwise.

Shooting gallery would imply "against"
& what has Edler played? 2.2 Games |

And I also said if he continued to play the way he did in the first 11 games but we wont take in the fact that he can't read out of the formula. |

Catching up on the banter...
Edler is the same player he has been for the past 4 years. We don't notice how much we miss him until he is not on the ice. I don't see regression in his gameand think his value remains the same.
Tanev is a keeper...affordable, young, and not replaceable by a pick that will take 3-4 years to develop. Dumping Tanev for picks will make us look like Edmonton, who drafted a bunch of forwards but still is weak defensively despite having two of the best offensive players in the world.
I resign Guddy for 4 years if he wants to stay. He is young and has showed well so far. By the time we are competitive he will be 29. I'd go all the way to 5 a year to make it happen. If not, deal him for a high second / late first to recoup the McCann pick.
Defensive D Man award goes to Stevens in my eyes.
Tough loss but another game in which we competed and should have won. No finish tonight, but that is to be expected from a team in transition. Still a fun game to watch.
Is there anyone who regrets the Schneider for Bo deal? Miller was good enough and the Swedes are solid. I'd take Bo every day.
If Dorsett scores 15 and continues his solid defensive play he might garner a late first.
My 2 yuan for anyone who cares about the opinions of a transplanted Canadian in China

They attacked a lot but no finish. The last two goalies have been outstanding.
The question is were they outstanding or did we make them outstanding. |

Man, the boys were snake bit last night (Schneider also played great...)
Scoring chances in the game were 41-21 (all situations) for the Canucks and High Danger Chances were 14-5 (Natural Stat Trick).
You're not going to lose too many games when you out-chance your opponent like that. Still, moral victories don't count in the standings so the guys need to pick a corner now and then.
Also, I thought Pouliot and Biega were good again. If they keep playing like this, what happens when Edler and Stecher come back (cough, trade Gudbranson for scoring please) |

Just realized how artificially high the scoring chance count is on that site... not sure how they measure it, but that seems ridiculous. The high-danger chances seems more appropriate |

I am not sure if snake bitten or not good enough. I like Biega but if he is your top Dman and Dorsett is the top goal scorer then your team may have problems. |

Highly skilled individuals need to be aquired high in the draft, for the most part, hopefully a couple more years of bottom five finishes. |
