We Gen X'ers heard the same thing about Social Security that you are now, so that MAY not be true, but I'm not counting on it being there.
For your other issues....remember the baby boomers are the ones that created many of those "entitlement" programs that were nothing more than ponzi schemes to begin with.
Don't embrace crony capitalism, embrace true market capitalism. We've been on a socialistic trend for the past 70+ years, either your generation radically changes it, or you keep trying to apply band aids like mine did.
Go back to what really made this country great, not one liners designed to whip people up into a frenzy. - gcomella34
True market capitalism gets you industrial revolution-type conditions for the working stiffs. I'm a registered libertarian and i used to believe in all the free-market stuff. Now i think it's all a lie. The system is run by the wealthy oligarchs, and the rest of us fight over the scraps.
Congressmen aren't farmers or nurses or teachers for the most part. They're wealthy, well-connected people looking out for their own class. The middle class is dying (may already be dead).
What I'm saying is the system is rigged and my generation knows it. The American Dream, if it was ever real, is more of a fantasy now than it ever was.

If the system is run by wealthy oligarchs, than it's not a free market.

The wealthy families in this country buy politicians through campaign donations (thanks, Citizens United) and dictate policy to the government that will increase their stranglehold on whatever industry they control. It's a corporate oligarchy that controls America.
My apologies for once again getting political. Go Sabres.

I agree with you that wealthy corporate interests, in some cases do this.
Abandoning the free market in favor of HEAVY governmental regulation is what got us here. The only thing worse that gov't or coporations are when these two WORK together.
Just like separation of church and state, we need a separation of business and gov't.

Oh, and don't apologize, nothing you said was derogatory or disrespectful.
