I posted a link on his corsi and shot generation and shot suppression. I supported my claim with data. I personally dont like him as a hockey player just like i never liked bieksa. I also supported the plug statement in saying he will want more than 3 million from benning to be a mediocre 3rd pairing d man. I would prefer to trade him and bw replaced by a proper and modern 2 way defenseman. Not trying to start an arguement but my opinion on gudbranson isnt new and i dont want to repost the same links and charts that i have in the past. - Codes1087
Im to lazy to look it up, been posted in here before, but.... he does prevent controlled zone entries at an elite level, just doesn't drive any shot generating statistics. |

I like the physicality he brings which this squad clearly lacks.
However, He'd get way more in free agency than what I'd offer him for an extension.
In hopes that we dont overpay him, we might aswell trade him at the deadline. |

Heard BB practiced with twins on their PP unit. So does that means Gagner or Venek on Bo's unit? |

Do you have a turnstile stat so we can compare the eye test....? - Nuck4U
You wear glasses? Might need to get some new ones.
And lol at people continuing to beat the Gudbranson = Bieksa drum. They're totally different dmen outside of fighting. |

Still 20/20 vision. So I'll add turnstile to shoots puck off boards to next game's drinking contest on HB for Guddy. I bet you get drunk before I do |

Turnstiling is way worse than chipping it off the boards...ideally both are limited in today's game, but I can live with the latter. The former is what leads to legit scoring chances. It's again why Gudbranson can never be trusted as a true shutdown dman. He has a role to play on teams, but a dman who can't produce or be trusted against top lines has a cap on his value to a team.
Again, I don't mind the guy at all and like having his presence on the roster, but I guess come off as a hater on this site simply because I understand his limitations. On HF, they'd probably call me an idiot for liking him at all. Guess i'm stuck in the middle
I'm a huge Tanev fan and consider him a high end shutdown dman, but even with him I understand his value is also capped since he doesn't generate offense. |

The next question is what is he worth in a trade?
i'd like to keep him personally, but it's a fair question to ask.
I don't understand the logic of who do we trade when a couple Dmen get healthy...
we shouldn't trade any Dmen.
we need the depth on teh backend.
I mean, it only took a few games for 2 of our top 4 D to go down.

Heard prospect report from CA Jeremy Davis. High marks for EP on his development in comparable to other players. If he keeps this up through the season Canucks will be looking to bring him over. |

2 wingers and 1 Dman by the TDL for prospects, picks, guys on expired contracts to get higher picks or better prospects if need be.
Don't need to sell the entire team. Just allow room for a few younger players spots next season. - manvanfan
yep, open up some spots.
even if we are within reach of a wild card spot, I hope FA is on board with moves for the future.
still wondering what the plan is, would JB stand pat and go the whole season without moving a winger with the thought if/when the Sedins retire at the end of the season he will have room?
would players sit on IR when they have already recovered if there wasn't any roster spot for them-club asked? is it common? |

I'm not for the tank, but I think acquiring some picks and playing the kids is just as or more important than the wins. the wins have been fun.
I don't want the bottom to totally fall out, would like to see success with the kids. want to see Pouliot stay in the lineup. |

With the enforcement of the c0ck the boards have withered like old balls under a vine.
I know the c0ck states that you can't insult another poster.
I would like to waive my right to being offended or insulted.
If you think you've insulted me, know that you have not.
I wish to display my extremely large set of balls under my thick veiny skin.
My skin is so thick that i invite all the trolls and other buzzards to say and do their worst.
Makita, Whitelie, Micah, CaptEo, et-all , please do not ban or erase anything anyone posts about me or my opinions. No insulting my child or family, everything else is fair game.
I invite anyone else who wishes to copy and paste this, to do so. Perhaps we can return this forum to the miserable place we all know and love.
Below i shall make claims.... come at me, brah!

Gudbranson would rag doll Bieksa.
Guddy is 24, when Bieksa was 24 he wouldn't hold gudbranson jock strap, corsi wise.
Gudbranson has a howitzer of a shot and its just poor coaching that hasn't put him in a place to utilize it. I've liked him from his junior days and always saw him as a Shea Webber type. I could honestly see him putting up 2 to 30 goals a year on top of being physically punishing.
Defencemen peak at 27... sigh him 6 years at 4.5 per. |

EP will be the best player from that draft, the only star.
There will only be 5 to 10 other players who play 300 NHL games in the whole draft.
Not only will EP have a more successful career then Nylander, hee will have more points per season on average then Matthew's.

Shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic. Get the top 5 pick say thanks and hand them gold watch - VANTEL
Jb is the best drafting gm of any nhl team in history, he will pick the top drafted player even if his first pick is in the 3rd round, guaranteed!
1st overall had nothing on jbs picks. I mean look at the McDavid draft, proof that jb is the matter.
If you don't agree... then you're a.... misinformed individual.

I don't mind Gudbranson, but he can't skate well. Guy gets beat waay too easily by any forward with decent speed. - Nucker101
Anything good about his skating ends at stride. He is too slow backwards and when he pivots to follow the player getting by, falls too often. Straight line skating is adequate imo.

Agree. Hopefully Guddy doesn't start shucking his fighting duties like Bieksa did.
'Once a crusher tries to become a rusher they quickly turn in to an usher'.
- Don Cherry - LordHumungous
The one thing that drove me crazy about Bieksa was any time a Sedin was run head first into the boards or knocked out with an elbow, or a young player head hunted, Bieksa would just hold the guy saying "wanna go wanna go?" If someone embarrassed the poop out of him on the ice or gave him a cheap shot/slash, he was going to make that SOB pay at any cost. I stand my ground on him to this day, he got more credit for being unselfish than he deserved. All his poorly timed comments to the media in the playoffs over the years that bit us in the ass only underlined it. Knocking out a teammate... all these things are "Bieksa first" with that ego.

Haven't seen a mention yet.
Dahlen scored OT winner today.
Jasek with an Assist
EP goal and assist
OJ with an assist
JG still isn't playing.
KL two assists
Filip Zadina now has 28 points in 18 games. Could be the next Marian Hossa. |
