I power grind gears, brah!
Your opinion is as rancidly flaccid as Henrik Sedins slap shot is hard.
Opinions you state are unbearably unstatable.
Offensive to my eyes, my ears bleed if i read them aloud, yet you sound proud and pious stating such untruths like an orange man in a white house kicking brown and black sand into the cracks. |

i'd like to see a poll re who wants Guddy on the team or not.
i for one like Gudbranson and what he brings. - dbot
I don’t like when people who don’t know someone call them by a nickname, those are personal, friend only usage. Also, “Guddy” sounds stupid, if that is indeed his nickname.
Re the poll, he is replacement level for me, kind of like lieutenant Johnny Rico - he can take he job until somebody better comes along. |

Game day mutha nuckers.
How's Pouliot been playing. Wouldn't mind betting he gets on the board against the Pens. |

That's what it comes to for sure. Other then Goldy the other 3 will need to play pro with organization by end of this season to get better read how close they are to NHL ready. On returning list you could add 1 maybe 2 (DD plus RFA) moved by TDL. But the off season is where Canucks will try creative way to move LE.

It's on😈... Vet Edler returning from injury soon. So if Pouliot wants to stay in line up he better score. |

So he's only keeping a place warm? Glad to see him get some ice time finally - I don't mind him not scoring this game.
It's going to be a good contest I think. Let the drums start beating & the hits start hurting. |

Hate to rehash the Gudbranson thing about controlled zone exits, but I had a bit of time this morning to do some digging on the interweb and here's what I found (data from Dissect the Blueline):
*They only had data for the first 8 games of the season (7 for Gudbranson because he was suspended 1 game)
In those 7 games, Guddy gained possession of the puck in the defensive zone 120 times. Of those 120 touches, he was able to skate the puck out or pass the puck out of the zone (controlled zone exit) 16 times (3 skating, 13 passes). Uncontrolled zone exits (simply clearing the puck out of the zone without maintaining possession) occurred 26 times.
A failed possession would most often be a turnover in the defensive zone. Rarely, it could be that the player pinned the puck against boards or flipped it over the glass resulting in a whistle. Gubranson had 17 failed possessions in the first 7 games.
Icings are considered their own events and Guddy iced the puck 3 times.
Finally, the most frequent event is Gudbranson made a pass to another player in the dzone and this didn't directly lead to a zone exit. This occurred 58 times in the first 7 games.
So, for a handy percentage breakdown of events that occurred when Gudbranson got possession of the puck in the defensive zone (120 times):
Skating Exits: 2.5%
Passing Exits: 10.83%
Total Contolled Zone Exits: 13.33%
Uncontrolled Exits: 21.67%
Total Exits: 35%
Failed Possessions: 14.17%
Icings: 2.5%
Passes (not leading to exit): 48.33%

He really isn't anything special in that category, what he does have is the physical part. Ability to clear the front of the net and out muscle the "larger" forwards so they don't get the second and third chances which this team has lacked since Ohlund, Jovo days. I don't know what you pay that.
It has always been an overpaid type of player IMO. Brooks Orpik. Brenden Dillon, Luke Schenn, Karl Alzner.
He's a capable defender. Not a goal scorer, not a defensive specialist. Has a better all around game then most 5/6 defenders. Really he should be looking on a long term 6 year contract about 3 million max. |
