I've liked Tanev and Hutton together. I know everyone looks good with Tanev, and Hutton isn't well liked around here but I think they have some good chemistry. - Nucker101
MDZ and Guddy looked good together as well. |

Yeah, they've been decent together but I didn't like MDZ last night as much as I did in prior games. Liked Gudbranson better than him. That pairing spent most of the 3rd period chasing the Penguins in their own zone and were bailed out by Markstrom.

There's sites that show you where players take most of their shots on the ice and how often they score from those areas.
Same with dmen, there's charts that show how many shots they allow near the net or slot compared to long distance.
Half the people who write off stats don't even realize that it goes much deeper than corsi - Nucker101
I am not writing off stats as they are important parts of the game, I just don't always agree with the outcome of these stats. Most of the time, a causal effect happened that isn't recorded, like a turnover in the neutral zone, blown coverages or a ricochet/deflection off aan official/boards that were contributors to the "event" being recorded.

When the sample size is large enough, those things barely effect the numbers. |

Hutton has looked pretty solid after his first couple of games.

I feel the same way.
I like him, but he just doesn't grow on me.
Is it because he's streaky? or is it because Bo (and now Brock) seem to carry him??
I dunno.
i've always thought that him and Granny were interchangeable, and that if i needed to pick one, I'd take Granny.
But if he becomes really important to Bo and Brock, maybe that will change.
He's like the Morrison on the WCE. - dbot
This is what I wonder but I also think if it works don't fix it |

I think that must be the consensus.
As long as that line is firing, don't mess with it. |

Not sure what this has to do with what I said lol. Just my opinion that Gudbranson played decent and MDZ was just OK, but as a pairing they struggled in the 3rd.
Also the Pens were playing a back to back and aren't playing great hockey by their standards. |

It appears TG changes the lines and pairings to reflect the incoming team. Expect that to continue.
Makes it very difficult for the opposition to read .....non predictable |

I think all 6 D men have been solid as of late. 9 goals 6 games. Every team makes mistakes .
Canucks have been very competitive this year mistakes happen. |

Edler should be returning shortly, who comes out Pouliot, who has been playing decent and is LHD or Biega who struggled somewhat last game, but is RHD?
I wouldn't mind seeing Pouliot tried with Edler on his opposite side. |

Biega for sure. Like I said, he needs to sit here and there because he is inconsistent. He's a wonderful 7/8th guy |

Ya he is a depth guy only. Pouliot could get a chance to play well with a solid defenseman like Edler. Like Edler or not he is still a good defenseman
