How do? Until somebody points out your bias you characterize ROR as “pretty good.” Then when your reminded he suddenly becomes “really good.” It’s not just semantics, it’s reflective of your frame of mind. - Der Kaiser
Pretty good, really good, damn good. Any good you want. Still isnt great.
No team fears facing ROR like they do Evgeni Malkin or Nikita Kucherov, or Jamie Benn.
Those guys can take games over. We don't have a guy outside Eichel who can, and it's a big issue |

Some people. I was surprised by the beginning of the comments to this blog, many people are realistic in their evaluation of where this team is and the future unless nearly everything goes perfectly...like that is going to happen. - IonSabres
You too
We don't agree on anything, especially politics, you and I, but you get it when it comes to the team for sure.
I love to root for the Sabres and Bills. I love them. What's best for them, I have strong opinions about. But we aren't good, and the Bills need to beat New Orleans, who are riding a 6-game win streak and due for a loss, or they are a paper tiger as well.
Moulson will NEVER score 20 goals again. Okposo would be lucky to. Kane is the guy we should have signed but too late now, we locked up too many useless, aged players.
We actually have a solid bottom-6.
ROR is a 6'1'' instead of a 5'8" Derek Roy and you know what? I saw more heart, more offensive prowess and more defensive awareness from him than ROR, on Roy's worst night.
(frank) this poop. We got Jack Eichel, the consolation prize of the millennium, and he doesn't want to prove us wrong. |

Speaking of Nylander, what the hell happened to him? Has got to be a semi-major injury to be out this long no...like 2 months right? He missed camp I seem to recall. - IonSabres
Good luck finding the answer to that question, can’t find anything. On him, my understanding was he has to pass a physical to get sent down to Rochester but he not playing or practicing...
He was out for all of camp and most of the rookie camp, he played 1 period in one of the rookie games.

I think we have enough forward talent to build 3 lines that can score right NOW
And we are only adding to that in the future with Nylander & Mittelstadt
I also like the chances of Asplund, Bailey, Pu & Baptiste to be top9 players
Even if just 4 of those guys work out...
add them to Jack, Sam, O’Reilly & Okposo, and keep Kane
4+5=9
It might not have a 2nd or 3rd 40goal scorer, but those guys all have 20+ goal talent - jdfitz77
Sorry to say 4 +2=:6
Kane's not going to be here
Sam and okposo aren't core guys. The nhl is about speed and determination. Neither guy is fast and one guy has determination. It's nice to be hopeful
I'm sure I'll get ripped for suggesting I have an "inside scoop " but nylander has "the ennis" from what I hear. Dark rooms , focusing issues.[/img] |

Nylander has concussion issues - Boss34
Good to know.
I thought he would be an Ennis 2.0 anyway.
I'm still not convinced Tim Murray wasn't a spy sent by Ottawa to decimate our organization and embarrass us. |

1) you don’t KNOW that about Kane...
and if he is traded, one would assume it’s for a significant piece who will be here
2) Sam & Okposo are proven 20goal scorers
That’s good enough to be in a contending team’s top9 |

Okposo is a proven 20-goal scorer when playing with John Tavares, just like Moulson.
Also, we aren't getting anything more than a pick or two for Kane, sorry. |

1 yer deals for additions, and then trade for the studs when your prospect pool is deep and you know how good your young players are |

Fair... but I’m also not convinced we NEED that
Of course, it would be nice
Still wanna see your 15-16 lines without the Kane & O’Reilly trades |

I think it's safe to say, eichel, ror ad kane combined have not taken over games as malkin has the last 2 plus seasons |

Can’t u argue that they did that for 4 years...
‘12 draft- Grigorenko & Girgensons
‘13 draft- Ristolainen & Zadorov
‘14 draft- Reinhart
‘15 draft- Eichel
Identified they could trade Grigorenko & Zadorov
One more year would’ve made it “deep” enough though?
I guess deeper than the year before...
But then u could say that EVERY year
We could’ve gotten Dubois or Paajarvi in ‘16 instead of Nylander
But then couldn’t u have said we should AGAIN “wait another year” so that we could get a better pick that Mittelstadt in ‘17
Where does it stop?

I think the pegulas have seen enough. Its one thing to run a bad organization (their fault or not) but having the off ice/off field baggage is a huge distraction. Jbotts too. Hes a classy business guy, not a tmgm scout. Kane is a time bomb waiting to happen.
**I like the Pegulas
Okposo might be seriously done. He has a young family and the icu is scary
Sam- we cleary do not see him the same way. He can definitely ride shot gun with eich for 20 plus. On his own , um........ |

If they were that much against Kane,
he’d have been LONG gone by now
Fine... play Sam with Jack then
Can Mittelstadt Center a productive 3rd line?
I’d say yes |

for a team that started it's rebuild in 2012
the prospect pool is blah
the young impact players are blah
the current team is blah
and we have little cap and little returns to show for all those draft picks over the years
and this team is not close to being ready
right now, maybe 2019-20 they might sniff the playoffs

We don’t agree on politics to be sure, eh it happens.
I wanted to believe in this team, for the past two seasons, before they began I was telling family and friends who are casual hockey fans that it was time to get on the wagon at the ground floor cause the team had the makings of being exciting, skilled with good compete...I bought in.
Well guess what, after blaming Disco Sucks, it is now fully on the under-achieving players...be careful what you wish for boys...the spot light is now fully on “you”.
This is why I have been holding them fully accountable and refuse to budge. This roster should be yielding significantly better results including Jack the God...he is fun to watch, he ain’t Connor and he isn’t Matthews...skilled. Oh hell yes, YES...bound and determined to win..not sure he has that burning desire in him...he may be another Perrault...as exciting as hell to watch, yet his compatriots like Bobby Clark win baby. Like Messier. That is what I expected to see ou5 of him. We got an 8.5 out of 10. The pouting, throwing the coach under the bus and cracking sticks over his knee is getting old. Go dominate a god damn month of games, then frigging do it again....and I’m talking about his play away from the puck.
So nope, I. Not feeding the complacent, oh boy they came out strong for the 1st 10 minutes as some sort of victory...holy crap, you being paid a boatload of money, it ain’t Juniors anymore
Ok, that felt good
Thanks Patch for the best blog to date!
