I read he was hitting more . Moved to top line and he is stronger. His coach said he is NHL ready I believe - VANTEL

OJ plays a safe game but in the NHL forcing wide is one thing but closing down the angles is still a work in progress. He has to learn to use skating & stick ability better. - Nighthawk
Yeah, he's actually a smooth north-south skater, but his pivoting looked bad in exhibition so if he fixes that then I think he'll impress. I liked how natural he looked on the PP though and his passes were nice. |

Can't argue with that, I'm not even much of a Hutton fan. He's a bottom pairing type of guy at this point who needs sheltered minutes.
Biega is a bit weird, he always looks better when he's fresher. I think he plays such a high energy game and isn't a big guy that he's almost at his best when he's fresher than everyone else. I remember when he played a lot last year and started well and then faded hard. - Nucker101
Hutton has somehow forgotten how to shield the puck & use his skating ability like his rookie season. His confidence is off IMO |

Agreed. He's regressed since his rookie season. I hope the same doesn't happen with Stecher. |

I just wanted to make clear my level of Hutton hate
You’re right about Biega fading |

That's why I brought up the Sauve treatment. |

Jr habits & now on the big ice is not a big help. Needs to use his hockey IQ & be a better student of the Pro game. This year & offseason & training camp will be a key for his next step. Even if 1-2yrs away thats fine |

What you missed on OJ was the fact that he had put on more weight rapidly and was getting used to his body during exhibition. If you watch the games in Finland where you need to pivot faster as there is more room to blow around you OJ is doing well. |

Stecher has a bigger motor & heart with Hutton being more aloof. Hutton needs to look at Burns & fit it in to his abilities in his own way. |

I think you need to still hang on to him . I wonder how Holm is progressing . He was decent on the O but a fire drill on the D |

More like OJ has not faced NHL speed enough & its a harder transition. A lil seasoning & playing against men & work on technique & positioning is all he needs. |

That might apply generally. But in this case OJ hadn't faced NHL players in those exhibition games Nucker mentioned. He now is playing against men in what is considered a fairly fast league. So that pivot adjustment with his new weight seems fine now.

Wings playing a great checking game with the lead. Wonder if TG puts in the blender to stack a few lines for offense. No need for a shut down line in this one. |

States my case even more & IIHF hockey doesn’t compare to NHL ice hockey. |

The way the Wings skate & check is the problem. Need more posession in the O zone & start pinching. Like Nucker said they play 4 deep cuz no point threat for us. |

Transition this year to smaller ice will help but i agree he gets his shot thru but idk if that tranlates into a real NHL game. |

Well there you go TG moved Vanek and a Canuck goal. Looks like another empty Nucker theory proved wrong. Why Lefty laughs as he knows how wrong they are most of the time. |

I’ll take the credit for possession in the O zone then. U can bet on the D pinching as the time ticks down. |
