Seriously Codes, yup Gudbranson is the reason for all the poor play tonight...

What I witnessed on TV, Unless Boeser is the second coming of Bure, he is a selfish puck hog. The team to me was flat, terrible passes that were no where near sticks, players didn’t pressure the play, Hutton and Del Zotto played poorly. Shots were poor quality and easy for Howard to save. But I guess it should all be placed on Gudbranson.

Honestly though, this performance is what I expected from the Canucks long term.

Missing both Edler & Stecher we can expect some hiccups. Our depth is ok & we did comeback down 0-2.

You noticed the whole shut down line was in the bottom there. Which is why I think TG should have mixed them up in the 3rd.

Why the heck did they need shut down line in this game anyway

Disagree. Boeser shoots but he also made a lot of nice passes. He has some of the best vision / passing on the team IMO. That’s part of what makes him fun to watch point or no points. He’s got way more than a shot. If he didn’t shoot you’d be here saying he’s got to use his shot more.

Shots from the point is not his forte & some poor passes to him on the PP for one timers hurt us when he was in a good position.

Yah perhaps not, quick release is more important in tight / slot vs a regular one timer. He was wide open top of the circle with 8 seconds left but d-man shot it and blocked up into the netting. A nice pass for one timer would of at least got through.

Yes thats right. I don’t focus on stats when the game was up for grabs & was decided by circumstances not stats this time out.
Each game gets the attention in its own way & not solely on any one particular aspect or way of looking at it.

Very few Canucks players had a good game tonight, which is not surprising as most haven't expected them to be very good this season.
In my opinion, Pouliot, Virtanen and Gagner played decent everyone else not so much.

waits for stats guy to tell me otherwise.

The thing i like about Boeser is that he will shoot from anywhere, and often not look like he is going to shoot, and it is always on net.

Didn’t get to watch but sounds like Stecher and Edler can’t come back quick enough

I don’t get why Makita hates Stecher and loves Gudbranson? Old time hockey? I’m all for foil, but neither guy is irreplaceable...

That game showed me why speed & our prospects are looking bright. Our D could be better & fluid skaters with more O. We r getting there but still 1-2yrs away from seeing more of whats needed in todays NHL. Drafting more D is key to me.

Everyone dissects differently. When we win, most people say "if it aint broke dont fix it". When we win, like the last game, i look at data to see that boesers shooting percentage and scoring chances put him some elite company. When we lose, i say "what went wrong and why" which leads me to the data that shows more than our plus/minus or tanevs blunder or what have you. We just all take wins and losses differentially is all
