Very few Canucks players had a good game tonight, which is not surprising as most haven't expected them to be very good this season.
In my opinion, Pouliot, Virtanen and Gagner played decent everyone else not so much.
waits for stats guy to tell me otherwise. - Renidrag
Stats guys and seeing eye tests guys will probably have similar opinions on the game. |

Makita is more the one here to temper ppl who harp on things ad nauseum. He gets misread most often IMO. - Nighthawk
Maybe, iām not here enough to read the sarcasm, those little jokes go over my head because I donāt have the context. There was a point last season when everyoneās was down on Edler, but Stecher was the flavour of the week. Was a game against Chicago, Kane scored late to win it, Edler was -4 or something. I got into it with V-tel, because on each of the goals against Stecher had made a mistake that contributed to the breakdown, but no one could see his shortcomings.
Anyway, this team is still a long way from competing for a cup. |

Everyone dissects differently. When we win, most people say "if it aint broke dont fix it". When we win, like the last game, i look at data to see that boesers shooting percentage and scoring chances put him some elite company. When we lose, i say "what went wrong and why" which leads me to the data that shows more than our plus/minus or tanevs blunder or what have you. We just all take wins and losses differentially is all - Codes1087
Thats pretty much all true. Some games r easy to dissect & others not so simple. Each game tells its own story & sometimes the stats tells a better story & at other times not so much. |

I can see your point. It also sounds biased when the stats i post directly target a player i have been well known to dislike. The fact is, the entire d corps didnt play well, our sutter/granlund/dorsert line was bad. Sedins line started strong and tapered off. And the forwards again struggled to generate. Not a good game overall. |

Pouliot has looked pretty steady tonight. - Nucker101
He stood out for me as well. After watching this game live tonight, I kinda walked away with one thought.
And the thought is that Granlund is a player with a scoring touch and cant do shyt with his current line mates and is not playing up to his potential because of it. He needs to be put somewhere else.
Other than that. Game was sloppy. 1st and second were hard to watch. 3rd was great.

I see it as our D begins the breakout.
Once in the O zone a reasonable threat to create offense. We r ok on the breakout at best & fairly poor on creating any offense ala skating or shooting or drawing ops to open up our scorers. It will be our Achilles in the long haul & drafting or trading is our option.
The PP needs a QB threat... |

Sutter is a poor playmaker & DD is what he is. Mucker goals is all the line is good for. Granny does need a better line i agree but at present the roster is still evolving.
Granny scoring less also helps us resign him on the cheap maybe. TG is sly as a fox š |

10 of the next 12 games r on the road.
November oughta give us a good indicator whether we keep on playing as a bubble team or sink on down into lotteryville. |

Sutter is a good bottom six center, when he's in your top six, there's obviously some issues with your team. Much the same as Bo Horvat being your first line center, kids good but he's not a number one center, yet??
The building will continue (thru the draft, meaning high picks) and hopefully sooner than later they get their guys in place. Certainly some promising kids in place but every franchise can say that. |

These are some of the reasons Iām not a Stecher fan, I can remember several games the team was hemmed in their zone for really long stretches because Stecher was running around, soft shoot outs, heās light weigh and easily out muscled on the boards.
Maybe he will be better this season, there hasnāt been enough games with him to make a judgement so this is based on last year...but I would rather Gudbranson over Stecher. Time will tell. |

Beers at the pub and discuss building through the draft seems a better option? |

Like Makita said I expected that same result as last night much more often but don't worry Tavares and Gagner are best friends Benning is a genius . |

I agree, too many people see the second before the goal, not the breakdowns in the zone coverage, like letting your man free, passing too a checked player etc.
When you look closer at Stecher play you tend to see a lot of gaffes in his game, not just in defensive zone, but in neutral zone as well. |

Irrelevant on the nights results - Nighthawk
Irrelevant on most nights results. Worst 5v5 shot differential??? yet the team has the lowest goals against per 5v5...there's an argument somewhere in here - i'm pretty sure its too stupid to waste time on tho. |

I seen on Twitter last night all the hate for Sutter . His line shuts down the other teams top line and up to last night Canucks had the fewest goals against n the entire league. A lot of people miss that stat.
We have paid close to 1/3 of our salary cap to 3 players that have produced 4 goals combined in 13 games. There lies the biggest issue. It will be fixed next year and we will see changes . It may be ugly at first but it needs to happen |

Thats a great question - comparatively the Boeser, Bo, Sven line are producing at quite a high rate - Stamkos, Kucherov, Namestnikov would be the best in the NHL with 62 points. Followed by St.Louis, Winnipeg.
then there's...
Toronto -41 pts top line combined
Van - 36
Columbus - 29
NJ- 38
Pitts - 40
Dal - 43
Chi - 34
LA - 40
SJ - 28 |

Not sure what some of these hysterical people expect. This is a team that is transitioning to a younger faster team and patience by these people lasts about a day.š |

I am very much on board with one more year top 10 pick. I don't mind the losses and am being very entertained in the process.
I don't mind the Sedins playing poorly seeing it will get us a much needed Dman for the future. Loui is another story and it is harder to ignore a 6 mil mistake.
Anyways enjoying the year |
