Stecher is not a top 4 imo. Neither is hutton or gudbranson or biega. Edler is a 2nd pairing and i believe MDZ and pouliout are solid 2nd pairing s men. Tanev is our only top pairing atm, imo

Agreed completely..Hutton and stecher got forced in to nhl too early because of our insane lack of defence -and all around- depth. Either of them would be a capable 5-7 d , but playing top 4 minutes for their first years has probably fuct their development..really gotta start drafting d men, looking bleak back there.

Yes i agree & see D in the 1st for us.
We need mobile offensive D in a big way.
Dahlin, Boqvist, Merkley, Wilde etc
We look stocked up ok at C & W for a bit.
Even more reason to resign EG.
Chatfield Holm & Brisebois need seasoning & OJ as well if he doesn’t force his way onto the Canucks. Not likely IMO.

Trading D could happen at the TDL or offseason maybe.

Hutton could be expendable or maybe EG traded for the right price if asking for too much to resign. Something has to give depending how this season plays out.

All this winning is fun but it's cramping my rebuild style. This team is starting to remind me of the team Willie had his first year, they weren't very talented but they played well as a team and had good goaltending from Miller.

Got their asses handed to them in the playoffs but they had a good regular season. Got lucky and found Boeser at 23 that year in the first round, which isn't normal and I wouldn't expect it again, but never say never if it happens again I guess??
