Stamkos's line has 72 points between the 3 of them in 16 games.

It's always good for a laugh to just look at Gretzky's HockeyDB page.

Look at 1970-71 +/- that nobody can touch.
That was the Canucks expansion year as well.

https://www.hockey-refere...e.com/teams/BOS/1971.html

Bruins team stats that year. Do the math & see how great Orr’s +/- was that year.
No + for PP goals for
No - for PK goals against.

So I am packing for a trip via Prince Rupert ferry, on my way down to Victoria(Langford), wondering if I need to pack winter or fall clothing. Any help from the Island boys would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

It was the 80's, sure, however, the next closest player (Mario Lemieux - 141) had 71 less points than him that year, that's just how good he was.

Mario was still better overall though, just so Bloated knows

I've been thinking about this for awhile...

Working on the assumption that Travis likes to keep his lefties & righties in place, it's easy to assume that Biega will come out on the right side when Stecher comes back. So Gudbranson should be safe.

As steady as Pouliot has been, he has to be the guy on the left who comes out when Edler comes back. As MDZ says in that Westender piece, he and Hutton have picked up the slack while Edler has been out. They've done it well.

I've been thinking about this for awhile... how about we trade Tanev and Edler... then we can keep Pouliot and Biega in the lineup. At a minimum how about we just trade Edler... Then Tanev at the deadline or at the draft???

Let's get rid of those two guys while we can still get something for Edler, and apparently Tanev is so great defensively, we should be able to get at least a 1st and a prospect for him...

Pouliot has been starting to show why he was an 8OA. once he gets more comfortable and confident, i think we will see a solid defender with top 4 potential.

This is why Tanev is expendable....

Del Zotto/ Hutton/ Stecher make Edler and his "offence" expendable...

I wish we had a Sami Salo kind of guy on the team. He was probably our best dman ever....

Hutton/Zotto
Pooliot/EG
Stecher/Biega

I think Benning and Co are loving this. Competition at all spots including goal tending. You have to admit any player can go down to injury and be replaced without a big hole being left.

Canucks also have three Dmen who are close to ready in the prospects and about five forwards close to NHL ready.

If you think this year is a bottleneck look out for next year

Tanev might be the least expandable player on the club. Yes I have gone 180 on this from two years ago, I was wrong.

Not really. It may take time to adjust but they will figure it out. The biggest mistake would be extending any expired contract. Goldobin has 6 goals 7 assists in 13 games he is close. You need to cut the umbilical chord one day. Why not next year? Not doing so only bottlenecks it more.

Are you talking Sedins? I don't think they'll be re-signed.

I've got to think that Goldy will make his way into the lineup at some point this year. Whether it's through injury or by trading one of the forwards (Vanek), it's got to happen eventually.

I think this team is going to get a lot better but there might be a set back first. Like Gagner was bad when he first got here but last few games is coming around
