I think Benning and Co are loving this. Competition at all spots including goal tending. You have to admit any player can go down to injury and be replaced without a big hole being left.

Canucks also have three Dmen who are close to ready in the prospects and about five forwards close to NHL ready.

They did a nerd article on holm recently, and i think people think he is a bust because he had a poor showing to start but he is 11th in points amongst dmen in the league and a really good possession player.

I like Holm. I think he'll be up with the big club next year. If you look at the contracts for defensemen in the organization, there's a built in structure of slowly bringing in the new guys. I believe Gudbranson will be gone next year (if not sooner), at which point Holm will be brought up as the 7th dman, competing for playing time with Stecher and Pouliot. The year after that, Edler's contract is finished. I could see OJ playing the full year in Utica next season, and then playing in Van 2019-2020.

I think that's how it's going to play out as well – hopefully. Even if somehow the Canucks are in a playoff spot/near one, I'd like to see them jettison a vet or two and bring up a young guy to fill that void. At least it will show management what they have in that player for the next year.

It measures individual shot attempts per 60 minutes played at 5on5. Boeser is shooting at the 4th highest rate in the league!

Tanev might be the least expandable player on the club. Yes I have gone 180 on this from two years ago, I was wrong.

Attempted Shots into shin pads or broken sticks per 60 mins on Tuesdays after 7pm per 5V5 against teams wearing any sort of red color on their jersey....
