best thing JV can do is take his game up a notch and force their hands.

That'd be the best-case scenario: he starts scoring and being a presence, making it much harder to take him out. Sort of rests on him a bit (though I'm quite happy with his development from last year)

Green really likes to keep his left and right defensemen on their proper side. So I am wondering if we may see Jalen Chatfield in the line-up this road trip.

I would assume over Pouliot and Wiorcioch, they are both lefties and we are down to two righties (Guddy and Biega)

Tanev hurt now, figures, some things never change.

Why i don't think we'll be moving Gudbranson anytime soon.

I read somewhere that Chatfield was struggling a bit down in the AHL and is a few pegs down the ol depth chart.
Pouliot has played good imo, no reason to sit him at this stage.

Don't think Edler's going to be an Ironman either

Agreed, he has played well. I guess we will see who plays on the wrong side tonight, if it works out ok, maybe they will run with it. But it will be interesting to see who gets the call up.

There both always hurt, I bet though tanevs isn't serious no sense in risking it by playing him a little banged up.

If it was from Tkachuk at the end of last game I hope someone (frank)s up Gaudreau or Giordano at the end of next game.

It's a wussy move because there's no time left on the clock and he knows who he's targeting.

Maybe one of the guys that get paid to bring toughness to the lineup will do it.

I think TG already brought it out of him that's why he went 8OA.

And Vanekk

Then send down Virtanen and call up Goldobin after and I think that would make the entire roster less than or around 200 pounds outside of Horvat

Just more proof of how short in depth the Canucks are on the RSD and why JB will sign Guddy.

Biega who doesn't belong in the NHL, is a journeyman at best, is your fall back. There is no one else being developed that is close enough to NHL ready for a RSD 6D spot in the organization. Chatfield is years away. Everyone laughs at Subban. It's an issue. Maybe this draft will alleviate it. But that takes time as well.

Carol Schram: Alex Edler, Markus Granlund may return as Vancouver Canucks face the Ducks
The Vancouver Canucks could get Alex Edler and Markus Granlund back in their lineup as they face the banged-up Anaheim Ducks and look for their fifth-straight road win on Thursday night.

- Carol Schram

With Tanev out now any word on Stecher's status? Getting too thin on RSD.

Vanek and Guddy will be this years trades(unless something bigger happens). Edler won't be going anywhere which is ok as long as he is taken off the PP. Hutton/Zotto/Pouliot have shown he is no longer needed there. Edler won't waiver so he will end his contract with us and find a new home after next year. Many of us who liked him in past years will hate him because he refused to get traded for assets.
