His corsi is always mediocre/bad, but he puts up points, plays in all situations, is pretty good at zone exits, etc so I think he's a solid top 4 dman.

That organization is insanely deep on the blueline. I really thought they should have traded Vatanen for a winger to a team desperate for a dman. Like Detroit maybe for Tatar or something similar.

There is no denying that those players are better and make the Ducks better. That's not the evaluation. The Canucks don't have an answer to replace Tanev in any capacity. Not only for his shifts the flow he puts on the D and confidence he gives this shaky team reverberates throughout. Marky's one word answer about what made him better was Tanev. He's a glue to a lot of what ticks on the team where shifts are built off of what he brings.

Hopefully Tanev is out for awhile then.

Over an 82 game schedule they can't just rely on one line for scoring and no legitimate second line center on the bench. Eventually this will catch up to them.

It was an issue back when they were winning the Presidents Trophy and I hope history doesn't repeat itself. They need better players. Hopefully a few more good drafts and the kids they have develop into what we all hope for them.
