I could only assume your joking here, nylander is an exceptional talent who will probably end up centering line two for years to come in the not to distant future. Sure he hasnt been findind the twine as much lately but lets not even think about giving up with this kid. He makes some mistakes at times but he also makes everyone on the ice a better player when he's there. He will be the perfect compliment to matthews for the organization for years to come. Little slump could also help the leafs when negotiating a contract which probably isnt the worst thing that could happen with all the young rookies that will need to be signed over the next couple years. - Chardcore709
Let's be honest. Burke did not put together a good team here in Toronto and the media was doing it's job ripping that tire fire apart.
Babcock is doing just fine. Marner was demoted to get him away from Bozak and JvR who were having a horrible start.
There's no room on Matthews line for Marner, and the Kadri line is taking on the heavy assignment of shutting down the other teams top line.
This was a chance for him to play against weaker competition and get some confidence back. He still got Power Play time during his demotion.

This is Burke in pure Trump-mode spouting fake news to distract. Blame everyone else but the guy in the mirror who is responsible for the shiitstorm.
Maybe the real "problem here" is trading two 1sts and a 2nd at the beginning of a rebuild for a peripheral player, shaping your team as a "fighting team" when the entire NHL is moving away from this style, making questionable draft selections and downright awful free agent signings, saying idiotic things repeatedly in the media about what you are going to do (and failing to do), being a general blowhard, and making a guy your captain who had no business in that role....in short, lousy management??

Toronto media is bad, no kidding! Tell us something that we all don't know and have known since the early 80's! Burke being Burke and a blowhard, should learn to keep his mouth shut and stay out of talking to the media. He has just never learned.
He did a lot of good in with a lot of bad, but what really sank him was being a blowhard and not knowing how to shut up instead of continually digging himself in deeper and deeper.
Much ado about nothing. He's a footnote in the bad era of the last failed attempt to rebuild before new management took over and has lead us to here.
He has nothing to do with the Leafs so go talk to the media in Calgary about Bennett!
