Like you mentioned before, a sign and trade would bring in quite a bit more. I agree.
If i was kane, I would want to hit unrestricted free agency. Wined and dined. Everyone pitching the city, training facility and making a fuss. Maybe Vancouver, if he wants to play in front of family? Otherwise, it would have to be some big $/ long term. - Boss34
I don’t understand any of the hate on here for him that i see
Dude can play hockey
I’d love if we kept him
But how do we get defense?
Sign Carlson as a UFA?
IF he’d come here
Make another “Scandella-like” trade for a solid top4 guy?
Not like we had to give up a ton
Trade Sam + if we can get a legit “top4” guy
-idk if this is possible
All I do know...
we will miss Kane if we don’t re-sign him |

Idk how that works for us going forward?
Kane-Jack-Sam
(Trade)-O’Reilly-Okposo
Nylander-Mittelstadt-Bailey/Baptiste
Now that I lay it out...
looks pretty damn good
But I’m not even gonna post the defense
We better win the lotto & get Dahlen
And sign a “Carlson” UFA
And hope Guhle & Borgen become pretty good, pretty fast
Interesting theory though
Could work out great |

if i am reading correctly, sounds like you are saying kane possibly with devils?
I dont see that happening, the devils need help on D, and wont be trading any D for a forward and the devils wont be trading for someone who will be a UFA unless it is a sign and trade
I just dont see how a trade for Kane works for the devils or the sabres - dmarsden2988
Let me premise this with " a source " so take it for what its worth:
A week or so ago the sabres were scouting in new jersey. They were looking at Devon severson. He was a healthy scratch the night before and then played over 3 minutes on the power play that night. With will butcher playing well and showing signs of a good offensive upside , It could make Devon expendable. Yes, Devon just signed a 5 year 20 plus million deal this off season. So the devils obviously like him. A sign and trade would make sense, if kane's on board.
The sabres need a real nhl defenseman badly. Our defense is a mess. Jbotts likes to keep things cost controlled from his days in Pittsburgh with the cap.
Nico and/ hall could use some power forward/ protection which kane would provide. Nj also looks to be a legitimate playoff contender. Kane would be a beast in the playoffs.
What's the word on devon's healthy scratch status?

If kane really doesn't want to sign here, he's an asset that needs to be moved. If he does want to sign here, maybe you gain the asset and then resign him in the off season. I like kane, he would hard to replace. Does he like buffalo? |

we got (frank)ed proper. There's 0 doubt in my mind that Tim was a plant by the sens.
Eugene (frank)ed Travis Yost using ukranian hackers, and (frank)ed us using Murray. - Sabresfan-365
If he was a plant we wouldn't have had the best shot at McDavid. No way in hell. |

So does your source know names? because there is no Devon Severson
There is a Damon, and the devils have no D in the pipeline that could step in and none that can replace him this year without making another trade, and the devils are already thin as it is, and that was before mueller went down with a broken clavicle
The devils while have looked better than last few seasons also started well last season (9-3-3) and dropped off, but its clear the devils are weak on D and they wont be trading one of their best Dmen for a forward, when mojo should come back and zajac just returned on thursday |

Nashville & Anaheim are both still loaded on defense with the young guys they have coming
Either team would be great trade partners
Can we just draft a Swedish defenseman EVERY SINGLE SEASON
Even if it’s in the 2nd or 3rd
That country really develops defensemen
So many good defensemen coming from there
Idk wtf happened to Denis Persson though?
He was a 1st round bust
Ugh - jdfitz77

It's Damon, not Devon, Severson.

Will Peterman’s decisiveness outweigh Taylor’s scrambling ability? The 5th and 6th best sackers in the league will be breathing down his neck. Here’s to hoping Peterman can! |

There is clearly nothing better then spelling a guys name wrong : when you're trying to sound important lol
So who filled in for damon when he was a healthy scratch on Nov 7th? Why was he scratched, odd for a 23 year old making some pretty good $
I see mueller broke his clavicle this past sunday, a few days after the trade rumors

sounds like the game plan all along was 1 and done for tyrod
otherwise why hire an offensive coach with a different style, esp when the head coach is a defensive guy |

This team has treated Tyrod like absolute poop. "Haha, you thought we were actually going to pay you that money? What a loser!"... "Here's a pittance for a legit starting QB in the NFL. Take it or leave it."... "I know we have a winning record and the defense got shredded the last 2 weeks, but you're done."... And for what? |
