I think most of us qualify our "information " with "this is what we hear" or "take it with a grain of salt " ect, Buffalo is quite a bit smaller than toronto and people in the hockey community do talk.
Such as : my brother, my cousin, my husband , my friend or even my brother's friend's cousin is traveling here or there. He's looking at this guy ect., or that guy maybe available. This team called, here is what they are thinking.

A severson trade would make sense from a sabres perspective in many ways.

He's a young nhl veteran early to mid 20's
He could be a 3/4 defenseman for the next 5 years on this team
He plays the powerplay
He is cost controlled/under contract
Our defense is thin

They just signed will butcher
Butcher is racking up the assists and could play pp time
Severson was a healthy scratch and needed to "refocus" or in other words : not playing to the coaches expectations or his.
They have a few smallish forwards that could use kane's on ice presence
They would need to move salary to acquire kane's salary

Sure, maybe kane would need to be extended, for the trade to be more even.

Maybe we are adding mccabe or another d. Maybe ror?

Could be a moot point with the devils loosing another d to a broken clavicle

I hear ya
But the issue with inconsistencies will always exist in these type movies

It’s just gonna happen when u have different writers & directors

U gotta realize,
that even though these movies are made in the same “universe”
they’re also made independently of one another

Even in movies like the Star Wars trilogies,
u get inconsistencies of the fine details

If u let those types of “errors” bug you,
then u will never be able to enjoy the movie

Like I said,
these movies are NOT, and NEVER will be, made for the “nerds”
So the best u can hope for is that they stay true to the heart of the characters

Movies are supposed to be fun
Just take them for what they are
