I just dont like trading Kane when he is the guy showing up most nights - homiedclown
To your point,
shouldn’t we want to KEEP our good players?
Idk... seems pretty obvious to me |

Yes ROR can do no wrong lol please he's what -20 he supposed to be a defensive Guru and he's sucking right now
And I know it's not about points but he's not playing the two-way game he supposed to be playing don't give me that crap making almost the same as Stamkos and you want me to cool my Jets
Yes or no is he playing like his first year ? - GERBE!!!75PTS
He’s playing to a 63 point season in a defensive role. And has Best FO % in the league - usually in our end.
Go to the beach - your “talents” are better utilized there. |

People may not like trading Kane but he might get us a buttload before the deadline And a potential number one defenseman in the future
Ducks 1st , Larsson for Kane
Vegas 1st , Theodore for Kane
Tell me that doesn't make your mouth water - GERBE!!!75PTS
IF we can get that for him...
Also...
Even if we can get that return,
we still have to replace Kane
And it’s already hard for us to score more than 1 goal in a game

You should want to keep your difference makers. They have one of those. |

Nah - we have more individuals who are difference makers, but it’s too heavy a lift to ask 3 to carry 17. |

We have 3 of those
Kane is a difference maker
So is Jack
And yes (Gerbe), so is O’Reilly
Not all “difference makers” look like McDavid or Karlsson |

ROR is no Difference Maker imo
A difference-maker to me is someone that you worry about when he's on the injury report because you know he is that important to get a win
To me that's jack or kane |

But Tkachuck might not be there where we draft
We won’t know that when we trade Kane
And I’d love us to get Carlson,
but it’s probably a long shot at best |

Garry Bettman said the other day the NHL's gross income was 4-5 billion a year. The salary cap is going to go up, 7 mil a year today is not what 7 mil a year was yesterday. You worry about kale and let Bocco worry about the salary cap and how much the 3 horses get paid. |

Compared to who Stamkos?
It’s apples & oranges to compare the 2 salaries
Stamkos took a MUCH LESS than market value to stay in Tampa

I'm pretty sure we're going to be in the top 3 and I have him ranked as the third best player that's if we lose the draft lottery and we're first overall
The only defenseman worth drafting is Dahlin he's a freak of nature he's like Erik Karlsson but I think he's going to be better ( the Connor McDavid of the defenseman )
But if we lose out I don't want to draft a defenseman you take the best forward

He’s outplaying Toews, Bergeron and Kesler. His cap hit is lower than Toews - and slightly higher than the other two.
Not only does he get a pass from me, he gets a pat on the back. |

The majority of Kane's career still suggests he isn't. There are plenty of okay players that have really good years. They're not the norm, and they often come during contract years. I still want to see him outside of a contract year and without the "get your act together or your career will come to a quick end" ultimatum, which, make no mistake, still exists, and will until he gets his next contract, whoever that might be with.
You can make an argument for O'Reilly, but he is a non-factor far too often for the contract he has. |

Ok... but we still won’t know where we are drafting at the time we trade Kane
We could finish 3rd & end up picking 6th
Look what happened last year
You’re assuming we can replace Kane
I don’t think it’s a sure thing that we can
It’s VERY risky imo |

But u can play that game for 95% of the guys in the league
O’Reilly is worth every penny we pay him
Who’s taking Def Zone draws without him?
Jack?
Imagine how much that would limit his offense
He’s not ready for all that

1) Kesler is not playing
2) Bergeron only played 14 games yet still the best two-way defensive forward in the game
3) if there was a trade for ROR and toews I would do that in a second and put the C on his chest
The funny thing of those three everyone would trade Ryan O'Reilly for |

It's a risk but you could replace players like Kane as you said yourself finding a number one defenseman is very very hard |
