I’d like to see Housley start playing Antipin on a regular basis this year to develop him given the sh1tty collective performance.

Further, their strategy should be pulling 4 - 5 guys who need to be coached-up and paying special attention to them from a development perspective...

Honestly, I'm not even sure I went to their website at all over the past several months but agreed, I'm not even wiping my ass with the Buffalo News, I'll bare-hand it and wash them before I let that travesty of journalism taint my taint.

Sorry to disappoint.

Interestingly 7th round picks tend to be better than 6th round picks. 6th round picks have 2.05% chance of being a top 6F, top 4D, starting G, and an 8.85% chance to play 100 games and 7th round picks have a 3.2% chance of being a top6... and a 12% chance to play 100 games. I'm guessing you're more likely to take a bigger chance on a guy in the 7th than the 6th.

And the 2nd overall picks are better overall than 1st overalls, but that's mainly because of the misses at 1st overall Yakupov, DiPietro, Stefan, Daigle...

There's some variance between pick levels, because it was only a 23 year sample size(1990-2013), so a couple of guys taken in a 5 pick block will skew it one way or the other, and I'm sure once we get a few more years down the line and the past few years are added it will change then numbers a bit more.

Eh,
That is today’s world...disagree with someone, attack them personally and label them as asshats.

Not that I agree with it.

Common ground.
Entitled, self-serving, ego maniacs...generally speaking.
That is why it is impressive when you meet one outside of their “norm”.

But, I also imagine our grandparents said the same about our generation...in general.

We have the $$$ to sign Kane AND (for example) sign Carlson

It’s not one or the other!

- jdfitz77

What's the deal with signing carlson? Back reading , every other post. We are not close to being a playoff team or even being competitive. Jbotts is not going to go out and buy a high priced free agent. This makes zero sense.

I was at the debacle in Los Angeles and watched that horror show live. Flip those numbers around and then you'll have the Bills record.

If I may tell my truth

Bogo is pretty good when he's healthy. He and Risto would have this team playing .500 hockey over the last 6 games.

- jcragcrumple

Your kidding right?
Bogo was a train wreck the past 2 years
Risto wasnt playing well this year
Your saying the sabres would have won 3 more games with those 2 in the lineup? Between 4-6 more points. H O M E R

The st. Louis defense has scored over 20 goals this season. The sabres d ZERO.
Good thing we have a hall of fame defenseman running the show

Mike Yeo is not a hall of fame defenseman.

The thing is: being a good coach and being a good hockey player have almost nothing to do with each other.

Gretzky is a great example.
Sbroads is agree with your ealier comments:

The sabres really need to hit the reset button again. No patching in carlson or any other "okposo" type free agent. Somehow unload ror or/and kyle. I like Kane, but he can go to. This is a few year process, we are not even close to be competitive.
Build around:
Eichel
Middlestat
E rod down the middle

Gotta take the good with the bad I guess. Nailed it with the Jersey leak then splashed battery acid in your eyes with the tmi take. For the record, wiping your ass with any newspaper would be a traumatic experience regardless if written by Bucky Gleason.

You’re missing the point

My responses were to show how Kane could be signed,
and we’d still have $$$ to also address the defense
Doesn’t have to specifically be Carlson
He was just used as an example

But apparently ppl want us to do that now

I don’t get it
Why anyone thinks we’d be different than Edmonton seems crazy?
All that youthful talent was wasted bc they were overwhelmed without support of experienced Vets

Just bc we haven’t moved forward YET with O’Reilly & Kane, does NOT mean we are gonna be stuck at 30th with them

I guess that where I differ with the Doom & Gloom cloud
I think we can get better...
and even be GOOD with the right moves
