Just got done watching the 2nd and 3rd periods on DVR. I thought Girouxdini had the best disappearing act in the NHL. Eichelfield could make the Statue of Liberty disappear. - Hatboro_Swords

Today,
I’m THANKFUL for my POSITIVITY
Yes, I realize it’s not easy
Especially for those who’ve been suffering with these sports teams even longer than myself
BUT
If we win the lotto & get Dahlin,
then I believe we’re a playoff team next year
Kane-Eichel-Reinhart
Pouliot-O’Reilly-Okposo
Nylander-Mittelstadt-Pominville
Girgensons-Larsson-Bailey/Baptiste
Rodrigues
Moulson- (trade)
*finally a 3rd line that can score!
Dahlin-Ristolainen
McCabe-Scandella
Guhle-Beaulieu/Antipin
Bogosian- (hopefully trade)
*adding Dahlin & Guhle should help A LOT
Lehner
-Ullmark
*I’d look to trade for someone like Grubauer & move on from Lehner
Yeah...
an improved defense & a 3rd line that can score should be enough to get us in the playoffs
And if we trade Moulson (shouldn’t be tough) and Bogosian (probably have to add a pick, but it’s possible)...
(I’d also say to try & move Okposo, but idk if that’s realistic?)
then we’d have Cap Room to go after a UFA or two, like:
-Tavares
-JvR or Neal
-Carlson
Can we get any of those guys?
Probably not
But if we did...
then we are talking about a team that can maybe do some damage in the playoffs
(especially if it’s Tavares) |

Holy crap. This is the most ridiculous post I've read on here, maybe ever.
I don't know where to start.
Moulson shouldn't be hard to trade?
You still want Lehner on this team?
We are going to sign two big time UFAs (Kane + Tavaras) with O'Reilly, Okposo, Eichel, Risto still on the books?
Larsson and Girgensons are still here?
There are too many holdovers on your projected team. Something is rotten in the state of Pegula. We need a thorough house cleaning in the worst way possible.

No, Moulson will NOT be hard to trade
His actual salary is only 2mil next year, so he’s attractive to a team needing to make the Cap floor
Even if they send him to the minors, he still would count for over 4mil against their Cap
But I guess you didn’t know all that
Maybe u should be a little more KNOWLEDGABLE if you’re gonna criticize so harshly
I literally wrote I wanted to TRADE for a guy like Grubauer (he’s a goalie, duh),
but I guess u need to work on your READING SKILLS
We actually have PLENTY OF CAP ROOM
And moving Moulson & hopefully Bogosian would bring even more
Plus,
the Cap is projected to go up 5-7mil
And I’m not saying we will actually sign Tavares, just that we’d have the $$$ to try... which we will have, if u actually put in time/effort to investigate it
But I guess it’s easier to be IGNORANT
I’m seriously wondering if u have any in-depth knowledge of our situation at all
Sure doesn’t seem like it
Larsson & Girgensons are on my projected 4th line. They played pretty decent as 3rd liners for us last year with Gionta, at least defensively. In a role on the 4th, they are not just fine but could actually even be good
Although I guess u don’t realize that players look a lot better when they are put in the correct roles to fit their talent
They also can eventually be replaced but guys like Rodrigues, Asplund, Cj Smith, Baptiste, etc...
Having too much turnover in 1 season would do more damage than good
My projected lineup has 2 new forwards in the top9, and 2 new Defensemen playing nightly, plus I’m TRYING to acquire a new goalie & bringing up Ullmark as a new backup
Since Guhle would be in my projected 5th defenseman spot until he’s ready to move up to the 2nd pair...
that has me with 5/15 new players in our most important spots
That 33%
Which is significant
That doesn’t even include if we actually can sign a guy like Tavares, JvR or Carlson
Likely? No, probably not
But we WILL HAVE ROOM to possibly do so
In conclusion...
yes, a 3rd line that actually scores & improved talent on defense & hopefully in net will make a major difference for this team
If u knew anything about hockey,
then you’d realize that
Way to be a d!ck though
Happy Thanksgiving

I have been on a 2 month rant about Accountability on the Sabres, or more so the lack of it ...maybe our 4th line grinder brings the leadership craved by this rudderless shipwrecked collection of players ...
From BN article this am:
“I think we've got to start holding guys accountable. Start being honest with ourselves and our teammates," ...”When we're turning pucks over and not working hard, it kinda (gets) swept under the rug and we've got to, if someone does turn it over, if they don't chip it in at the red line or blue line, we've got to say something.”
Finally.

Fair enough...
you too sir
But i do think Nylander & Mittelstadt can help the offense
Just imagine having guys that can actually score on the 3rd line instead of guys like Griffith, Larsson, etc
And Dahlin & Guhle can help the defense quite a bit as well
Talented guys that can skate, and even help the offense too
I don’t think we are that far off from being decent
Not yet where we wanna end up
But we gotta be decent before we can be good, and good before we can be great |

They can talk about accountability all they want, but the sad fact is there's maybe 3, 4 good players on this team. Someone has to have the worst talent in the league, right ? And this year, it happens to be us. There's no lack of effort. It's not bad coaching. You have Eichel, ROR, Kane, and maybe Risto. That's it.

Maybe they just need more support instead of AHLers playing significant roles for this team? |

Agreed on Nylander and Mittlestadt...but I think they will both need next year to season further.
Guhle should be a beast...would love to get Dahlin, those two allow others to slot in better roles they are more fit for on the D.
Wish they would keep playing Antipin and use this year to develop him.

I disagree with the effort, especially away from the puck.
I see very very few players crave the puck when the opposition has it, specifically on turnovers in the O and Neutral zones. I don’t see a balls to the walls along the boards. I don’t see a lot of drives head down to the net.
I see a collection of centers who want to set up the pretty goal from the perimeter. |

Jack and ROR are both doing their jobs - even though most opponents simply focus on shutting down their two lines and counting on scoring enough to win against our depleted d-corps. It’s an issue of not havingenough talent all through the lineup - on the front end, because JB is keeping them in Roch, and in the back due to injury.
I think, anyway. |

I see the skill in these guys, I don’t see the refuse to lose attitude.
Leaderless and no Accountibility leads to underperformance.
I’m not happy with the guys on the list above, save Scandella...he hasn’t irritated me yet.
The rest “play” in spurts |

Jack & ROR aren’t playing terrible
U don’t think is we had a 3rd line that could score some goals we’d be better?
And no...
They aren’t playing with AHLers,
but Pouliot & Pommer are more 3rd liners than top6
and Okposo has not played well at all yet
The problem is Jack, Kane, O’Reilly...
it’s that we have too many players in roles above their talent level |

They aren’t ......lehner is not a good fit for this style of play, he needs to go.
The others need to play better, esp jack... like it or not when you get paid that kind of money he needs to do more.... which I think he can and will but he can’t do it by himself.
We are at least 3 years away..... IMHO... clear out some of the extra ‘s and draft well and hope like hell nylander and mittlestadt develop... (otherwise we are in huge trouble).

I’m probably being optimistic on Nylander & Mittelstadt right away
But if they are both here,
I can see them scoring 15goals each
Idk if the 3rd & 4th lines will even combine for 15goals for this ENTIRE season |
