Pominville was "the core" and remains "the core"...he's done nothing for me since his hot start...goal-less in his last 10, one assist in his last eight and looked like he was ready to cry after the MIN game

i would tend to disagree, the defense they were putting out some days was so insanely bad.

lately they have had a few good games. washington and minnesota especially. i'd be willing to bet they have a good game tonight too.

Talent issue yes, but we also aren't getting production out of players compared to last season.

Only 7 players are on pace to surpass 20pts this year. Last year we had 3 more of those. 2 of our 7 now weren't here last season (Pommer/Pouliot) and only 2 of 10 (Foligno/Gio) left, so it isn't as though the lineup got worse. Still not one goal from the blue line, our possession numbers are worse somehow, save % is worse and even Jack is behind last year's pace. We were bad in a lot of areas last year, but we are even worse this time around. There's more than a talent issue IMO.

The D has been AHL quality and should be when half the guys on every pair are AHL guys.

i just refuse to believe that, say, mccabe (world jr captain!! omg leader!!) for example is under performing because eichel whines when something doesnt go his way

its a lazy argument thats easy to make because theres no way to prove or disprove it

He should be CARRYING this team on his BACK! I'm not giving him a pass just because he's second on the team in scoring. There's no leading by example with him, that's for sure. All this talk of giving him the 'C', he's going to light it up this season, the face of the franchise, yadda, yadda, barf, puke, etc...well, he's certainly the face of a heartless, gutless team right now, isn't he?

He needs to make up his mind if he's going to be the man. He played harder on half an ankle last year.
