fringe players that can't stay healthy
we don't need them - homiedclown
he has 2 pts in 9 games vs
3 pts in 21 for girgs
and 4 pts in 24 for Larsson.
I'd take Josefson over those 2 and hope he can stay healthy. You know what you're getting from the girgs:

fun fact: eklund once wrote me a long email and gave me his phone number while trying to make an offer for my website
i replied with different terms and he never even had the decency to reply "no thanks"
so not only does he make up wild rumors, hes an asshat too
TL:DR; i should sign eklund up for cat facts |

Here were the forward lines and defense pairs during practice in HarborCenter:
Evander Kane-Jack Eichel-Sam Reinhart
Benoit Pouliot-Ryan O'Reilly-Okposo
Nolan-Johan Larsson-Jason Pominville
Zemgus Girgensons-Kyle Criscuolo-Matt Moulson
- From the BN
I'll be skipping that one |

Yeah, but they're fully guaranteed. No team is stupid enough to buy a guy out with 5 years left. Well, other than the Islanders. Yashin just came off their books last year I think. And even when bought out they still get a chunk plus what their next contract would be. They'd be stupid to not sign one. - Wetbandit1
I find it funny that Edmonton is paying Pouliot $1.33m for 3 more seasons after this year.. |

I've never looked it up, but is Eklund actually around teams? Can he walk into a locker room with other media and say I'm Eklund with Hockeybuzz? Does he even try? I think he was anonymous for a while, right?

So it sounds like Moulson is going to get a few games he to try to rejuvenate the powerplay. So you waive a guy who has scored this year, and insert a guy who hasn't, in order to score more goals.
Solid logic - jcragcrumple
Moulson has at least been a productive scorer in the league
Yeah, he’s probably done
But he was productive as recently as last year on the PP
What’s the worst that could happen?
We already suck |

They're dooming his linemates at 5-on-5. He can only be played maybe 5 minutes there, so it'll gas O'Reilly and Eichel. There are undoubtedly better organizational options than Moulson, but they're not playing them. If they actually wanted to win, they'd call up Bailey and Erod and waive Moulson.
I get why they aren't doing that, but it also makes watching the Sabres impossible |

I guess all that’s fair
Maybe they can get Moulson scoring some PP goals again, and make him more tradable in the offseason
Whether he’s in the lineup or not,
the games haven’t exactly been fun to watch |

No one is going to take him for less than a 1st. He is 100% done, and i don't see anyway it could be tenable to have him on the roster next year. There are three ways out from this as i see it.
Entice him to retire with the promise of a Harborcenter job
Buy him out
Waive him and save $1m.
Number 1 would run afoul of the NHL i would think, 2 would hamstring the team for the future, so 3 it is.
I agree that the games haven't been fun to watch, but i would actually be interested if Erod and Bailey were playing instead of Crisuolo and Moulson. They're trying to have the Amerks win at the expense of the Sabres which SUCKS for the fans |

#4 Have him 'develop' an allergy to his shin guards, helmet, jock strap whatever and put him on LTIR. |

How? You'd take a big buyout hit in 18-19 at 3.6 mil but only 667K in 19-20 then he's off the books.
It's their best option unless Murray gets a GM gig between now and then. |

I f you waive him, it would be a $4m hit next year instead of 3.6, but you don't have the 667K the next year. Idk, i guess it really doesn't matter |

Well,
however we get rid of him...
I can’t imagine he’s here next season
With the Cap going up reportedly 5-7mil,
we shouldn’t have any kind of issue buying him out or waiving him if he can’t be traded
I wonder if Bogosian would also be a buyout candidate...
anyone know what his buyout #s would look like? |

I think they are going to keep moulson. Just pay him next year to be the same guy he is this year.
Yes he is terrible, but why stretch out any of his payment, we are not in any sort of cap trouble.
Next year, more young guys from the system and inexpensive free agents.
2019 time to win again.
This year is like the mceichel year. At least it's not the reinhart year, setting up for the super tank year to follow |
