That's a great point. Anything we can do to develop Antipin and others is the best long term goal.
When looking at the standings: What we need to concentrate on is the regulation losses - minus wins. We are a minus 9. Arizona -11. Above us is Edmonton at -2. #tankingmath - Boss34
Agreed. Our only viable future talents are Antipin, McCabe, Risto, Nylander, Pu, Ullmark, Guhle, Mittelstadt, maybe Bailey, Erod, and Baptiste. Time to invest and groom

We'll, see that is where a business thinks differently than a fan...especially a non-paying fan.
I happen to be in the same camp as you, burn it with a complete rebuild...
Next year all about:
- get rid of all the boat anchors (Moulson, Bogo, Gorges, Okposso, Girgensons, Larsson, etc)
- let the younger of the kids develop in Rochester (Mittlestadt, Pu, Asplund, etc.)
- bring up the older of the Kids to play meaningful minutes (Bailey, Baptiste, eRod, Guhle maybe) - Plug holes with incentive laden 1 year deals
2019 - is the year that 2016 should have been with turning the ship around - IonSabres
Toronto had a lot of success with this. You get a placeholder and if it works out you get a free asset at the deadline.

He will never live up to the contract he signed, even last year as well as he played he wasn’t even close to being worth that kind of coin.
For 7 mil you better score more than 25 goals , this year we are going to have a bunch of people that don’t meet their contract. And the only one that will, is most likely going to get traded. - gordong
I don't know where this $7M I keep seeing comes from, he makes $6M. And who would you rather have. Backes last year, Ladd last year, or Okposo last year? That's what I thought...

Smodcast with Kevin Smith and his producer is really funny. They spend a few minutes shooting the poop and then at least 30 discussing the weirdest story they could find. And then go off on tangents. If I remember correctly they were between an hour and an hour and a half sometimes 2 hours. The ones that aren't just Kevin and Scott aren't as good.
If you like Kevin Smith, you'll like it. If you don't, you'll probably hate it.
They have 250 up on iTunes now, apparently that's all you're allowed because it starts at #137.

If you believe Clay Travis (Fox Sports Radio Host), who has one of the most hysterical vendettas against ESPN on the face of this planet, ESPN plans another 400-some layoffs in December. He broke the story of the last round of layoffs. They're losing money. I don't know how much Wyshynski has to work with or how long he'll be around.
On a side note, it's a good thing the NHL never re-signed with ESPN. In their current environment, they would be cutting major costs to NHL production. - buffalofan19
F1 goes to ESPN next year. Yay. It was bad enough on NBCSN; I can only imagine how it'll be on ESPN. Something more obscure than hockey? Good luck with that...

I didn't know we were forced to hand out a giant contract

I'm just saying it's not like it was some crazy contract. Other guys got either the same or slightly less and Okposo outperformed them. And is the youngest one.

Tmgm promised playoffs in 3 drafts. Then he needed to buy the "best available " free agent. That's the problem with constant turn over in the front office. There is no long term plan. Darcy and Lindy felt comfortable and could make long term moves, not "knee jerk save your job reactions."
