57 games actually and yes he can take his 18 points and sail off. There's a reason he passed through waivers. At 25 years old I don't see him having some major breakthrough. Akeson 2.0
- SimmerDown17

I think Weal is much better than Akeson was. So while we may not see more of his butt we will certainly see his butt more often. Woe is you, I guess.

last night I think they felt the pressure and checked out which caused the post game actions.

Jake, Simmer and Ghost were a tire fire early in the game.

One thing I wonder is were 2 D hurt? It sure looked like they rolled 4 for the last 5-10 minutes

- dragonoffrost

Last night they were just exhausted from the B2B. The entire team had no energy and was generating no scoring chances. I literally remember watching San Jose for 10 mins forcing Philly to turn it over upon entry to the O zone, skate down to the Philly blue line dump it in and sit back. That happened for 10 mins and I can sure as hell tell you more than just Simmonds Voracek and Giroux were out during that time.

Could you imagine if we traded for RNH right now?
- hereticpride

I would not mind it if the cost is reduced because Edmonton have to lower their cap hit in anticipation of McDavid's massive raise next season.

Our games until December are against a lot of bad teams. It's a good stretch to go into. Being on a road trip might help the team as well. I would be shocked if we reach 17

No but they had a glaring hole down the middle....we have no such hole at present.

I understand the give to get....but if you think your giving up a 6 that turns out to be a 10 for a 7. Then you just will rue the trade for the next 10 years. Christ, look at the JVR for Schenn responses all this time later.

Im not complaining about the posters here, but backreading today was painful from a "hope" perspective.

We have a glaring hole at LW. Our best LW is Giroux who was moved from Center. Weal is not that good, Raffl is not that good and Weise and Lehtera are not good at all. Weal and Raffl are 3rd line players at best. We still do not have a 2nd line LW. Maybe Lindblom is the answer and will fit that slot in a year or two but this team will continue to struggle offensively without an adequate 2nd line Winger.

I think they'll be okay at least next year, but obviously they have to decide what to do with Strome

I'm still a big Gudas fan and don't like going LHD only, but....

IF we were to get RNH (which for the record...I don't think EDM should trade, but I would gladly take him) I would hope like hell that we could send Filppula the other way. EDM has tons of cap space this year, and can't really commit much money long term. I would trade Gudas+Filppula

The obvious road blocks to that are Filppula sucking and having a NMC and Edmonton being in, well, Edmonton. Would make me sad to know that Uncle Radko is so far away from Baby Neuvirth though

You guys actually like RNH? He seems like an awfully mediocre forward to me.

I would agree with Hexy that for some of the games during this streak they have not played bad.

last night was arguably one of the worst things I have ever seen and was along the lines of the game last year against the Caps where the fans were throwing things on the ice.

Borderline dirty knee on knee it to Laughton and no one even looked at the player that did it.

Im aware that it was the end of a B2B and that the era of the NHL having an enforcer or policeman type player are long gone but did they have to turn into cups of oatmeal slugging around the ice?

Weal is better than Akeson, it was a bad comparison. I don't hate Weal i just don't think he really adds much to this team. I watched him struggle on the Kings early on and wasn't impressed back then, not impressed now either. If he was gone I don't think he'd be missed.
