Why? I mean really, why?

You're actually not bad to talk to about 95% of the time, but why?

Never met him...seems pretty awesome. Overrated by most though and would never wear a shirt with him on it

I've actually come around on him a bit. I mean, I'm not gonna cheerlead for every post he makes, but when he wants to, he can actually be sensible and level-headed. So maybe 65%.

I actually hate afternoon games - rarely get to watch them on television.

The reason I think there should be a coaching change now is not that I think the lineups or ice times would change much, or that the results would magically turn around. But in these recent two home games against Vancouver and San Jose the team was completely lacking in confidence and vigor, and they were as close as it gets to being must wins games in November. Missing the playoffs again is one thing, but right now this is not a good environment to develop young players in, and if Hextall can't see that he's just not being honest with himself.

I like going to them; once I have tickets, I resign myself to committing to using my afternoon that way and just decide to have fun with it. Also, I enjoy some day drinking.

If you're home, with actual responsibilities, and there is an afternoon game on, I can see blowing the game off. Those are the games I usually just put on in the background.

Absolutely! That's why we're going - because we can and we want to have fun. But were we not going I doubt I'd be in front of the television watching it.

There are a couple of other factors as to why Hextall probably wouldn't want to replace the coach, even if he wanted to:

1.) Hakstol is not even half way through his 5 year deal. They may not want to pay for half of the value of the contract just to go away.

2.) Who replaces Hakstol? I don't think Scott Gordon is the answer. I definitely don't think it's Kris Knoblauch (at least not yet). I realize Knoblauch is considered a rising star and a large number of Junior hockey wonks on this board fanboy hard on him. I'm not sure a rookie head coach to go along with our rookie-laden lineup is the way to go right now.

I would get an experienced head coach on a short term basis.

I really have no idea what Hextall is gonna say if the scores in these next four games are something like this:

Boston 3-4 OT (blowing a 3-1 lead)
Calgary 2-4
Edmonton 2-3 SO
Vancouver 0 -5

Even though I personally think Hak is a bottom-tier coach in this league, I'm fine giving him some more time. Idk how much longer they can let this go on though.

Lappy, though, should have been fired into the sun this past summer. Kind of ridiculous that he's still around. Their PK numbers the past 4 years are horrific. You could make the argument that they've been "unlucky" or just received poor goal-tending while short-handed, but the fact is they've been a bottom 5 team on the PK since he's taken over (on a GA/60 basis). 4 years is too long to be unlucky.

The one thing that is actually good about having cable for Flyers games is the ability to record and skip all the BS. Especially for afternoon games. Really this goes for about any sporting event or show on tv

The #NJDevils have acquired defenseman Sami Vatanen and a conditional third-round pick from Anaheim. New Jersey sends forwards Adam Henrique, Joseph Blandisi and a 2018 third-round pick to the Ducks.

Devils were robbed. Vatanen is worse than A-Mac.

Idk man. I think it actually makes sense for both teams. I'm personally not a big believer in Vatanen, but he's got legit talent and plays a way that'll fit in perfectly with the current Devils team.
