Agreed.
If you read my posts you will know i didnt call for trades or firing of the coach.
I don't think the GM stating the obvious, that the team isn't playing well is a GM that is being emotional.
Lets be honest they aren't playing well. Any team that has lost nine in a row and is 6th from the bottom in the league, isnt playing well. - ggunky
By the time we play again we may be in the Third round pick spot....

It might, it might not. Depends on the coach. When Holmgren was fired during the 91-92 season, the team was a mess. Bill Dineen came in, got them settled down and actually had them playing pretty well by seasons end. He then had to basically start over from scratch after the Lindros deal and, with a ridiculous lack of depth on the roster (hell half that team belonged in the AHL!), and mediocre goalies, he still had them playing pretty well by the end of the season.
In fact, I've always felt that if Farwell hadn't replaced him with Terry Simpson in 93-94, that team might have done a lot better and the whole history of the franchise might have been changed. - BiggE
Success and winning is what creates confidence. Another coach would still need the tools on the ice and maturation of young players to get there. |

Somehow in 13 games svechnikov scored 53 points and 38 penalty minutes for his u16 team. He was born to be our next great sniper - Tfaehner
Except we avoid snipers in the draft like they've got cooties or something. |

So its abundantly clear we need to upgrade the middle of our lineup no?
Yesterday on the tweeter I posted a poll with a trade idea and it came back very close..
48% said yes
52% no.
What do you guys think...
Laughton and our 2nd 1st round pick (Stl) to Mtl for Alex Galchenyuk.
Galchenyuk is being crushed in MTL. They are obviously at odds with each other, but the kid can play and would immediately step in and fill in the 2C spot..
Lines could look something like:
G-Couts-Voracek-
Weal-Galchenyuk-Simmer
Filp-Patrick-TK
Leier-Lehtera/Vecc-Raffl/Weise - jak521
I vote no. The last thing the Flyers should be doing is trading for a center in my opinion.

Montreal wants defenders and I think Galchenyuk is actually a better wing.
After yesterday, and thinking things through, you kind of just have to ride it out. Maybe a playoff team comes asking for guys like Filppula or Gudas. Guys i think you could shed and still be right around where you are. If need be you move Simmonds at the TDL to the highest bidder.
But your right. You kind of have to stay the course and hope your own guys get themselves out of this. |

Adding Galchenyuk would probably improve the Flyers but by how much? I think we'll see Patrick take another step later in the season. They also have a number of center prospects that could be knocking on the door soon.

Any worries about Lyon?
Any worries about Sandstrom? Injury?
Our stacked goalie pipeline has a few leaks. - Konalover
I know it's Hart to remember but they do actually have the most promising goalie not in the NHL right now.
Oh and don't forget that Russian kid.

I would do this deal if they brought in AG to play the wing.

Galchenyuk-Flippy/Patrick-Simmer

So much for all the coinbase talk yesterday. The IRS just ordered them to hand over account info. Have fun with that. |

That's tough. Right now he too is struggling. But he has shown to be able to produce.
Like anything it would determine what was given up to get him. I am not moving a young player for him but if they want Gudas and maybe a pick i could do it.

I asked about two players Lyon who is at a sv %894
and another who has an injury that is unknown.
I said a few leaks in pipeline.
Am aware of Hart I was asking about another two.
Do you just default to Richard?

The reason why I say yes is that he is 23 and 2 seasons removed from a 30 goal season. He is also a young player.

He plays for the phantoms...
I think both goalies have plenty of time before they will be called upon so I am not worried about right now |

No biggie, just was wondering.
And yes, they could be in a bottom-5 spot with 3/4 of the season left to play. |

A few leaks in the pipeline implies the pipeline is starting to fail or is currently failing, which it isn't.
Lyon's shine is fading, and Sandstrom will get back to form soon. He was playing really well prior to this and once it heals up he'll come back around after the surgery. It's not like it's mysterious, they're going in and fixing it. He's no Hart, but he's no slouch either.
Maybe I'm just a Richard. Maybe it's the fact that I have the sickly aches at work and am firehosing Tylenol. Maybe it's because the system went down when I came in this morning. Maybe it's all of the above! But I think it's mainly the first one. |

Laughton hasn’t showed anything other than being an NHL 4th line C.
The St Louis first is going to not be a top 20 pick it seems.
Montreal would murder their GM if he made that trade, and rightfully so. |
