I just saw the Kane hit on Rust again, and Rust had every right to be pissed off and start throwing punches. Kane went knee on knee on him and shoulder to head. He got lucky he only got 2 for roughing. And that's weird, sure he takes dumb penalties, but they're not cheap shots. - Wetbandit1
Eh, that was not that brutal. He was coming in mad slow, his own knee buckled because of the awkward collision and maybe Rust slashed him at some point and he got rough up high, but this was far from dirty or malicious, IMO. Just a gritty play by a gritty player on another gritty player.
Rust wants to be a grinder, then he's gonna get hit like that at least once per game. |

This team is worn out, I see hookers walking around on the strip at 5am when I start work that don’t look as worn out as the Sabres |

"I'd say I had three or four point blank great scoring chances, I didn't bury them," said O'Reilly, who had several good chances in the middle of the second period. "I feel it's a little hesitation. I've got to get it off quicker. I've got to find that confidence in there. I’m much better than that. It kills us. It's something that can spark us and it doesn't. It's my fault. I've got to find a way to do something."
What about the other 11 forwards in the room? Or the defense which is the only blueline unit in the NHL without a goal this season?
"I can't control what anyone else does," O'Reilly said. "I can influence and I can do my part but I'm not setting a good enough example for guys. I can't look at anyone else to change. I've got to change. I don't know what else to say."
How about you shut the (frank) up and makes your words mean something by actually performing on a consistent basis for once in your career instead of this "takes 10 games off then plays twice as hard for the next 10 before taking another 10 games off" |

What I seen in the locker room before and after the game here when they played the Knights wasn’t players acting like a team. - SABRES 89
I said it earlier, it's just a bunch of guys playing. If you look at any one guy, they're trying, but there's no support, so the play just fizzles out. |

No, it's happened. Moulson and McCormick are proof of that. But, it's a conspiracy concept that's just not based in reality. No team has really ever traded away their UFA for a bag of riches and then had that player return on July 1 to a good contract and he and the GM share a good laugh over the heist they just pulled.
Kane is not from here, he might like it here, but that means little. He likes Buffalo about as much as I'm sure he likes Edmonton or Carolina, his loyalty is not set in stone. Once he's gone , he's gone. - sskkoo1
Vermette did it with the Yotes, got Hawks 1st won the cup then signed back with the Yotes, year after that Yotes bought him out. Signed for the Ducks. Unusual the buying out part, but the trade worked & he signed back for the Yotes. I'd call that successful for all concerned. |

There is zero leadership on this team, coaching staff, front office or owner. Do something, for Christ sake, do something. First time in their history they have been shutout three times in a row...... even the tank teams couldn’t accomplish that.
This team is a complete and utter joke... owner on down. Housley wants player to show emotion but he stands up there and shows none.... grow a set of balls Phil and call out your players, tell them it’s not good enough and demand more or you will get guys that will. Stop wussyfooting around. |

all we need now is jdfitz to come in and tell us to stop rooting for them if we don't like the product
Lemme ask you this... When you buy something from a store and aren't satisfied, what do you do? Yeah that's right, you usually return it.
Unfortunately, the Sabres cannot be returned right now so:

Forget all the leadership and effort talk. You need to come to grips with the realization that they're just not a good team. I posted something recently (one of my very infrequent posts) where I mentioned they maybe have 4, 5 good players. Changing that to 1, 2 now - and they're just "good", not great (Eichel, Kane being our good players). And oh my God does Lehner suck. Just shoot high on him, and it'll go in.
The team has been horribly built. Pegula needs to blow it all up and find competent people to put a good team together. Botterill isn't doing the job. |

To be honest, Jarry looks like he has a higher ceiling than Murray. Or at least that was the case until Murray broke a few records in the ahl then went & won back to back Stanley Cups.
Jarry is a #1, or rather soon to be #1 in my opinion. He made some really good saves. I'm hoping he's in again for part 2! |
