I like him too but I worry he may have gone stale already.
Move him if you find the right deal - chilliard77
If the Sabres make him available he will generate a lot of interest imo |

This is a great blog, very informative.
Just a couple questions :
With the Housley hiring, was that Terry and Kim or jbotts making the call. There were rumors about potential GM's being asked if they minded a hockey czar being hired above their gm positon.
The pegulas were possibly asking if the new gm was ok with them hiring the coach.
Similar to the bills, where the hired mcdermott separate from asking the gm (Whaley) his thoughts.
Also: Jbotts let the pagula's know the plan. IE #STEALTHTANK. Build rochester, and allow him a Crack at picking near the top for a few years.
It's analytics: How to build a championship nhl team. Pick early and often. Terry is/was a huge fan of the penguins rebuild. His dogs name is Sidney.
Not sure if jbotts is at fault yet.
Phil is a perfect tank coach
Similar to ted nolan
Fans like him for being a part of the sabres past, but he is in way over his head.

You get the franchise defenseman and you have a franchise Center and then you build
Now people want to trade our franchise center now

I think Jack's awesome too, but he needs to take some of the blame. No goals in 3 games. He's the main guy, he needs to make something positive happen, regardless of the other losers |

I for one am a Russ Brandon hater !!! and not afraid to admit it. He is a 1st class snake oil salesman. He buddied up to a dying Ralph Wilson and see where that got him. As the article points out it got him in total charge of the Bills without no football experience to back any of it up. Remember all of analytics bull crap he spewed like he was going to reinvent how the NFL is going to be. I am sure the Pegulas love him, that's what he does he build relationships at the top to further his own self worth and career. I would love to know why he is in the locker room. Him being there just proves that he is still the Teflon don, the man behind the curtain. While both teams burn he is cozy in his almost bullet proof office probably plotting the next big moves the teams have to make, most of which is to keep constant change happening so his power builds. I don't hate many people or things but I hate Russ Brandon and have never meet him. Sometimes it is easier to see things for a distance, and I have seen enough. |

I don't think the NHL can survive another lockout - GERBE!!!75PTS
I'm not sure that the nhl can survive WITHOUT another lockout. The product is terrible across the board. Not just in sabre land. It needs some serious rule changes to increase scoring and cut down on interference. |

Sam ReinFART is a bust...just like his slob brothers. We missed our opportunity to trade the scum last year when he still had a modest reputation. Now we are stuck with the waste bucket....don’t get me started on Kyle Okposo...I know he suffered a brain injury last year as wanted to kill himself and all, but my god...seeing Okposo on the ice makes me miss Ville Leino....and Phil Housely....HA! Enough of the sentimental choices for management and coaching! This man is in over his head! He is CLUELESS as a head coach. He was an emotionless, player during his career and has brought the same lack of passion to this locker room. Finally, how sad that we lost the lottery and got saddled with Eichel. Cute player...he should pan out to be MAYBE a point per game player when he hits his prime, but boy, oh boy....not getting McDavid truly devastated this franchise for decades to come. |

Great deal for.....the Sabres. No way would the Canucks do this, even with Jim Benning as GM. Probably would have to throw in Nylander or Mitts and maybe our #1 this year.
This season is turning into a complete disaster. I thought they were an 86 point team this year. They'll be luck if they get to 56 points. It's unfathomable to me that this team could be so brutal with so much so called talent on it. |

As bad as sam has played, he's on a rookie deal and looks like he's going to sign a cheap bridge deal. He is terrible and probably worthless on the trade market.
My concern i:
ror and okposo
Making alot, signed for long period of time, neither producing

Brandon anywhere near the players is more infuriating to me than even the Sabres play. He is probably trying to get his face in front of the cameras so he can fool another Ownership group into thinking he's worthy for when Pegula finally realizes he's a joke. My wife used to bartend at a high end restaurant. Brandon was a regular at the bar. When she would put on a hockey game he would ask why and say stuff like "nobody likes hockey" and "Hockey is one of the least popular sports". Then he strokes Pegula and weasels his way in. It is crazy to me that the fans see he's a problem yet Pegula can't see it.
This team needs to hire a new President and VP of Hockey Ops. Get hockey minds in the building who bring a winning attitude and culture. They have already lost the casual fan and are close to losing their season ticket holders. I know I am for the first time ever, considering not renewing my tickets. I could take my family on a trip to Europe every year for the money I spend and it is getting harder and harder to justify them.
It is time for a major shakeup. We need to maximize our return for Kane and try to move on from a few others as well. All hope is lost this season, we might as well finish what we started in hopes of winning Dahlin.

I am there too, me and my wife split seasons and go to 10-15 games a year. We are done. You know what we are doing. We can get tickets on Stub Hub in our section for 25% of the cost of the tickets now. Thing is now getting them on stub hub we can move around the arena if we want, only go to the games we want. I know 3 other guys that split tickets and all 3 of them are talking about dropping, and if you think they won't 2 of them don't even go to most game they have tickets too now. Looking back one thing that this organization always counted on was the fans always being there well now they may not be. My guess is that will be the true start to the changes. When you don't sell 16K tickets every game for a losing organization .

You're all freaking out way too soon. This season is a bust, and it's obvious. We have to ride the storm out... That's all we can do.
If anything, they are doing a great job at throwing in the towel while getting paid. |
