Another possible destination for Russell would be Edmonton. I can see Chiarelli offering Edmonton Puljujarvi and Edmonton's 2nd rounder in 2018 for Russell. - laughs2907

Chia: Hey Connor, I just squeezed Puljujarvi and a 2nd rounder out of Edmonton for Russell.
McDavid: But we are Edmonton
Chia: You're damn right we are. And initially, they wanted it to be Puljujarvi and a 3rd, but I talked them into it being Puljujarvi and a 2nd instead. |

I read on Reddit that iron Mike Keenan is coming back to the NHL and he has a three day layover scheduled in Edmonton later this week?
Coincidence? Or chia trying to blame and replace the coach? |

I think Mike Keenan is taking over Moss's position. |

Not Todd's?
Never trust a Todd.
Dre just needs some tough love and Mike is just the man for the job, although if you traded strome for a top 6 winger to play 2nd line with Dre and rnh for a 1st line winger to play with McDavid you guys would have a balanced attack.... oh and defence, 1st round pick for a top 4 rhd.
Then you could probably salvage the season and make some noise in the playoffs |

I was reading an article where they were discussing the Oilers roster with Tim Murray. He actually liked the current roster quite a bit. He said the only thing he'd change is that he'd slap their pee pee's from time to time. |

That's mostly true, upgrade on defence and some tough love.
Chia didn't do any favors with the cap hit contracts either.. |

What would you guys trade for Grabner? (UFA at the end of the season) Incredibly fast, can score, only making 1,650,000.
Imagine him playing with McDavid. |

Why is it some foregone conclusion that McDavid would play better with fast linemates? The two players he's found his greatest success with are notably slower than him (Maroon and Draisaitl) and his game is predicated on drawing in defenders and attracting attention with his speed and dangles while his linemates fall under the radar and are left open to find the right spots. How does straight line speed help that? The only situation where speed would help is seeing more breakaways but is that something HIS line really needs? He needs a slippery and agile, opportunistic, shoot-first winger (hopefully one of Jesse or Yammers).
I've said it before and I'll say it again: if the team is acquiring speed on the wing, it should be with express intentions to plant that speed next to Draisaitl. His puck protection, backhands and area passes are perfect for speedy players and are part of what make him and McDavid an effective tandem. Try our best to simulate that on a line without him and leave him to do his thing with other players.
As for cost, it's likely a bit high these days what with his double digit goals on a team that's still in the fight. I wouldn't go above a 2nd and their ask is likely higher than that. |

Doesn't need to play with McDavid. He's (frank)ing fast though and a RW, two things we need. |

More like a 3rd and Gryba for Grabner. If he resigns, he gets free prescriptions from Katz on Rexall meds.
Let's also not forget that you included Khaira (who has been having a great season so far and who many possibly see him as a future replacement for Maroon...........).................
If they need a warm body being sent back, Gryba would make the most sense for them and for us. |
