Can we all just calm down and ease off the trade Draisaitl train before we drag his name through the dirt and try to turn him into the next Hall and Eberle (looking at you saskoil)? I know this is a point of contention, but just because he isnt a consistent offensive threat on his own line quite yet, doesn't mean he can't get there if given time and a faster winger or two.
Blame Chiarelli for the contract; not the player. |

We'll just have to pay him his higher end FA market value. Simmonds at 7m for 4y's would be solid with me then. He gets the higher end value of the FA market (IMO) but with less term. He'll be 33 when that contract is over.
I would love me some Provorov if LD is involved.
LD/1st for Provorov/Simmonds would most likely be the starting point with us possibly adding. - EdmHockeyMan
That wouldn't be enough from us. Provy is their future and present in D; he's not going anywhere. |

I don't blame Draisaitl for his contract, nor do I have an issue with his production. I'm basing most of my trade ideas around him due to his worth (perceived or otherwise) and the fact that we'd still have Nuge as 2C.
Also I'm bored as (frank) have absolutely nothing else to do. |

I did blame Chia and I blamed MacT previously as well (pissed away entry year)... I never brought up the trade scenarios just gave my 2 cents (accurate) on what was proposed with details identifying agreement or disagreement... lol |

But this draft is deep in fantastic defenders and with us possibly picking around the 12-15 range, I think that PHI will definitely consider it.
Even if they trade away provy, they got a young corps of Ghost, Sanheim, Morin, and possibly Haggs as their core for YEARS to come. Once MacD is gone, that core will most likely definitely be ready to take on any further roles.
Gotta consider that as well. |

You don't really think that our spit balling (not snow balling Jero !!!) Draisaitl trade scenarios has any kind of impact outside of this thread ? |

#1 Centers have no value ? |

I would totally trade Drai for Simmonds... Drai is overpaid by 1.5-2 million- thats alot of money for a guy that obviously can only put out as McDavid's passenger and he plays small... I used to love the guy but now that he is getting paid top player type money- he doesnt give a poop anymore- takes plays off etc... Its pathetic. - saskoil21
So this isn't meant as an indictment of Draisaitl? |

No they do, just not as much as 1D. And Provy is closer to having proven he's a 1D than Draisaitl is to proving he's a 1C. |

Oh god no. More a commentary on how the negative discourse surrounding Hall, Eberle, Petry, etc also started out in a harmless way and was left to fester without applying rational context which led to them being demonized among more than a few regulars. If that happens in enough places, there actually can be a noticeable effect on perceived value. If that bias reaches the media, they run with it because they need a story and then it becomes "fact".
To clarify, my comments are more directed at saskoil's post than the trade scenarios. |

If I were GM (and I could be if I wanted, as I know Harrison personally), I don't make any major moves right now. |

I’m not on board trading him. Just saying only way I even consider it is an overpay from the other side. |

And if you would write a similar one for Drai, we would probably see his real worth... |

Drai is getting paid big boy money- he should play as a big boy... and it is fact- what has he done since being taken off the top line? 1 goal correct? |
