Proving my point.

MJL, calling for my son to be respectful doesn't prove your point, it's good parenting.

Sorry, I just had to stand up for myself there.

Peace son.

The only thing it does is endanger those willing to put themself in position to get blasted. Didn't Marchand have a bad concussion in the last couple of years?

Once a player commits to delivering a clean check you shouldn't be allowed to alter your position so as to make it illegal.

Do you think Marchand intentionally lowered his head to get hit there? Neither player in my opinion did anything intentionally illegal, it was just unfortunate.

So it's unfortunate that one team got penalized for it?

So anytime Chara or Morin check someone 5' 6" it's going to be a penalty? The guy skates hunched over. I'd hate to see the result if Provy lowered himself to hit him lower. Marchand would still be in the concussion protocol. Because he exploded through that hit to get lower the post hit explosion would be more.

It was a hockey play. No different really than when a player follows through a shot with their stick and high sticks another player. Was it a careless hit? No. Did Provy get his elbow up? No. Did he leave his feet? No.
If a player starts to lose his balance as another player is attempting to check him and the head is contacted because the player is falling does the checking player get penalized? Just stupid and a blown call.

I love defensemen who can lay a clean body check. Hence why I love the new Russian Tank.

I like D that can play D in general.

I liked Robert Hagg when he played Van. I don't think he will ever be a top pairing guy but a real good 2nd.

As for Sanheim, I saw him lots play against the Wheat Kings. He needs some tough love. You trade him to Van and Travis Green can help him out

Boeser and Pettersson for him and you've got yourself a deal.

Sanheim will get tough love from Hak. Ghost gets enough to prove Travis will get his fair share.

Hagg had impressed me with what I've seen this season. I didn't think he was going to be more than #5 here.

Ghost sort of like Tyson Barrie. Patrick Roy called Barrie a #5 PP specialist. Sort of true if you have 4 other D that are better at 5v5.

That's exactly where I slot Ghost if the prospects all pan out.

1 Provorov
2-4 Myers, Sanheim, Hagg or Morin
5-6 Ghost and the other of Hagg and Morin

Only problem I see now is Myers seems to be made of glass

Oh (frank) I forgot, since I watched the Bos- Phi today. Provorov hit on Marchand was such bullpoop. If they are going to have like tiny pecker heads like Marchand playing the game, they better be able to take a hit from a taller player.
- manvanfan

The worst part was listening to Jack Edwards for the next 5 minutes after that hit in his usual bias self.

I look at the Phantoms game day scoring sheet and stats and not seeing Lindbloms name very often is a tad bit dissapointing. Is he not getting better as the season goes on down there? Guess not keeping him up with the big club was the right decision if he is still trying to find his game in the A.

It's illegal to check someone in the head and it's a penalty whether intentional or not. He had to go to the quiet room because of the direct hit to the head.
