If you need to go on a west coast trip to evaluate the coach, you should probably just fire him now - PhillySportsGuy
Ron's gonna don the pads in practice and planning to go full Chelios on somebody.
But won't say who. |

Absolutely. How many goals have been scored where there is minor contact with the goalie in the crease? Now all of those are going to be challenged and overturned, even if the contact had zero to do with the goal being scored? Not in the spirit of the game in my opinion. - MJL
meanwhile there was a game where Elliott's pad was hit turning his body and the goal stood so who the hell knows anymore |

I'm sure that Konecny knows why he was benched. - MJL
that is not always the case and I still stand by the benching making NO sense. |

As a human that lives in Manitoba. The NHL and TSN allow me to see every Jet game. I can say that Steve Mason is just not a very good goalie. I'm also very surprised that Hextall is allowing so many younger players in the line up. - manvanfan
We had a four-plus season sample size with Mason here. Average NHL goaltender save percentage in that span was .915. Mason's save percentage as a Flyer was .918. Must have been that stellar D in front of him.
Mason's first few games with the Jets were brutal but a) he's a chronic slow starter and b) the team in front of him was worse. He settled in during his infrequent playing time since then pre-concussion. |

So he's a good goalie that plays on bad teams? |

He's an infuriating up and down goalie. Will give you stellar performances and then look a tire fire the next start. |

I hope that he doesn't..
Because if he truly knows that means he conceptualizes how illogical and out of touch the organization is with personnel deployment and he will most likely walk in FA.

Hasktol told us all why he was benched. He wanted a more defensive 3 lines to nullify 1 Boston line in Bergeron. Tk didn't make the cut. |

We can only speculate. I believe that Hakstol like most coaches communicates with his players and informs them why they are scratched or what areas of their game that they need to improve on. I can't say the benching made no sense because I don't know why he was benched.

Lol TK and others have come out and said completely the opposite. That there was no communication when being scratched. |

That explanation from him still doesn't make sense to me. That line can only be out on the ice so much AND we had the last change. He shouldn't have had to bench any player over the play of one line. |

That's what Hakstol said. Players said different. Stop acting like it's a surprise that this mouth clamped coach isn't a good communicator. |

Feel free to provide that information. Hakstol is a straight shooter.

Sounds like a mouth clamped coach.
"Do I need to alter the delivery of the message? Maybe a little bit. The fact that I do not have experience at this level — I’m not going to pretend that I do. But I do have an awful lot of confidence in terms of knowing the game well, knowing how to relate and communicate with players.
“And that’s one of the first things as I get started [in Philadelphia] and probably one of the most important things as we move through the summer. Communicating with and getting to know a lot of our players. That’s going to start to build the foundation for the plan that we have moving forward.” |
