Would you rather have him play and lets say, be a small difference in a meaningless game or rather be instructed to develop good habits for the future when we are counting on him to carry a larger share of the load? What is more important? - PT21

The team is losing money every passing week. If this doesn't get righted they will continue to. We aren't talking about the old die hard generations of hockey the new generation my generation first doesn't even like hockey that much and second won't stand for a losing team. I love hockey but I don't have many friends who do.
- Tfaehner
Excellent. This team could use some benign neglect instead of its rabid shortsighted enthusiasm. As for your friends, I assure you they will all come back/discover the team the minute they start to contend again.
Hinkie was able to do what he did because at that time no one cared about the Sixers. Now they are consistently selling out and Fultz hasn't even played yet. Just wait two years from now, assuming all stay healthy (crosses himself). |

I’d prefer if he was a little less level headed and didn’t ice one of the most embarrassing Flyer teams in franchise history. That’s just me. Continue to be his chief apologist all you want, but the team he’s responsible for blows. No emotion ...just facts. - landros 2
Sure seems like emotion to me. I haven't once apologized for Hextall. That's another ridiculous comment. He is responsible for the team but he also knows that he shouldn't be sacrificing any of the future to try and fix what is best a playoff bubble team. He has also said if he can try and make the current team better without sacrificing any of the future he will do so. I suspect he would be willing to make a youth for youth trade if he thinks it is a fit. He also recently said that he tries to make this team better every day. |

You CAN"T just build an entire team thru your draft picks. Its an asinine plan. You need to draft, bring up your prospects when ready and develop them, as well as finding the right pieces thru trades and FA signings to mix in with the up and coming players. Not bring in the Weise's and Lehtera's of the world and plug in Amacs and Mannings.
This team when you watch them on the ice have ZERO idea of what the (frank) they are doing out there. The breakdowns in our end are horrific, the simple passes are a struggle, but a big noticeable problem is offensively everyone looks to be doing their own thing and have no clue how to use each other out there. - Buzzo
Do you honestly think now is the right time, in this process, to worry about FA's and trades vs 1-2 years from now when the majority of the prospects should be here?
I have thought all along his plan was build through draft and when it makes sense or the time is right turn picks/prospects into needed pieces via trades or sign RFAs.

Wentz was a stud when they drafted him. That's football.
It takes time to develop most young NHL defenseman. In my opinion, Sanheim is a future stud. Provorov is already a stud. Hagg is a solid player who will only get better. Konecny is still only 20. Patrick is 20, in his first NHL season and is still getting back from his injuries that set him back. It takes time. - MJL
I agree on the 2nd part and I am thankful for everything he did. We are in a position where we can one day be contwnders thanks to hextall. BUT we need to improve or he won't be here when we reap the benefits of his labor. I'm completely content with a top 5 pick this year. I love the top 5 prospects. I do want to see a better coaching pick this off season and want the entire staff gone except knoblauch |

It's been nearly a calendar year since the Flyers' 10-game winning streak ended.
This is their 76th game since then.
They have won only 28 of them.
That is ... bad. - hereticpride
It's a fact like this that should be far more concerning than the current 10 game losing streak as concerning as that is. This isn't just a slump with a couple of bad breaks here and there. This is clearly a team playing poorly for an extended period of time.
I know this isn't all on Hakstol, but you can't fire all the players and if he ends up getting fired you can't say it would be a knee jerk decision based on this data. |

If they draft top 5 this year I've got to think one (maybe two) of G, Jake and Simmonds are gone. They aren't getting any younger and if we're moving backwards as a club it just doesn't make sense. |

I think either Simmonds or Jake stays not both. That's been my opinion for a while. It depends who we get. I love svechnikov but if we got first you can't pass on dahlin you just cant. |

But if Hex believes the team deserved a better fate over the course of 2 seasons...not much the fans are going to be able to do about it
2 years of bad breaks....interesting take on it |

I think Simmonds is the easiest to move. G will still generate good interest too. I'm not sure about Jake though. It could be a little tough to get value back on him without taking back an unsavory contract. |
