He will be lauded like Sam Hinkie. Because he won't be here when it happens. Hinkie was fired for taking too long. The same will happen to hextall. Sports are a results oriented business.

The Sixers actually win a few games and people act like they’re a dynasty. They haven’t even made a playoff yet, maybe we should wait to say Hinkie was a genius until they actually win a playoff series.

They got a generational talent in Simmons. In the NBA that's all you need to justify a tank job. One of the reasons I loathe that league.

Every sport is different what works in one does always work in the others. Baseball tends to be a market based sport the big markets rule until a small market gets it's short shot.

Basketball is star driven.

Football is really driven by defenses or a superstar QB getting enough parts.

They are trending way up aren't they ? Going to be better than years of mediocrity before they did this ? Yup. Exciting to watch selling out games every day ? Yup.

Why would you sell low on a top 10 scorer in the league? Or a top 15 scorer? They're under contract, they're earning their keep, they're part of only a few players who are doing well. Did people learn nothing from the Kessel trade? Yay a late 1st and B prospect or two for an elite player who gets weirdly scapegoated on a poor team. Why are they even the issue?

You trade Simmonds if it comes to it. That's the answer. He's by a significant amount the worst of the three and is not under contract so you could extract full value. Why this even takes much thought is beyond me. Trade Voracek or Giroux and keeping Simmonds would be the dumbest thing they could do. Just set the team back further. They have no one to replace them.

It is starting to crystalize what they need to do with Simmonds...without his off the chart intangibles it could be scary though......hold me.

We're talking about a situation where they're so bad that they're picking top 5 in the draft. I'm sorry but if it gets that bad you have to address the core of the team.

On an unrelated note the Detroit Pistons have a legit neanderthal playing for them. No joke. You gotta see this guy.

Lol as the phantoms go off the ice after the period there was a stupid kid grabbing each by the Jersey sleeve. Well he did it to Goulbourne. The look the kid got was priceless.

In fairness to Phantoms, they have 3 ECHL recalls in their D with Morin and Myers injured and Alt on Flyers recall.

I'm not upset at the ECHL kids it's just scary watching both teams bleed rushes that lead to goals. Most of them end up blamed on goalies.

Why does that change anything concerning Giroux and Voracek? They’ll make the occasional costly play like anyone else; Jake was the goat the other week for untimely ones; but they are not remotely responsible for what’s happening. They’re not. They could finish dead last. They’re pretty much the only players who aren’t to blame. It’s everything else that is the issue.

They may not be the only ones to blame but Jake definitely shoulders some blame for the steak continuing He's admitted it. And the longer this streak goes the more they will press. Which probably will lead to more brain cramps from players.

I’d like to know how Claude Giroux is responsible for the sack of poop clubs he has continuously had the wonderful chance of being a part of.

Sundin, Flyers style.

I would say our best players in order have been coots provorov g Elliot hagg with honorable mention Jake Laughton

I agree with your list before the honorable mention. Laughts must have done something wrong to get his line destroyed when they were doing ok although they weren't scoring.

No one is blaming him. Aside from that tool William earlier.

But yeah, the Sudin comparison won't look crazy if they don't turn this around soon.

Laughton has been played up the lineup several times to protect lead and he's had a few chances in offensive roles. I think he's been one our best players without a doubt but without scoring it's hard to put him above those other guys. Jake's been so important to the offense but bad defensively so that wash out makes him go down my list.
