Laughton has been played up the lineup several times to protect lead and he's had a few chances in offensive roles. I think he's been one our best players without a doubt but without scoring it's hard to put him above those other guys. Jake's been so important to the offense but bad defensively so that wash out makes him go down my list.

I really think they should have left the Honeybees alone. If your fourth line is holding serve when on the ice most teams would accept it. This year's line was better than last years I thought.

I know eventually all lines get jumbled but before the streak the Coots line and the bees were probably the doing exactly what was expected of them by the coach.

Man I hate that honeybees nickname.

Why does that change anything concerning Giroux and Voracek? They’ll make the occasional costly play like anyone else; Jake was the goat the other week for untimely ones; but they are not remotely responsible for what’s happening. They’re not. They could finish dead last. They’re pretty much the only players who aren’t to blame. It’s everything else that is the issue.
- Mononoke

Voracek, who has committed numerous blunders this season that have directly cost the team, is capable of performing better on the defensive side of the puck and most certainly deserves blame for those mistakes. This idea that his offensive production gives him immunity is absurd. Voracek's poor play away from the puck has most definitely been an issue for the team this season. Now if you want to argue that it's not one of the biggest issues, you might have a point.

No one is blaming him. Aside from that tool William earlier.

But yeah, the Sudin comparison won't look crazy if they don't turn this around soon.

- hereticpride

It is Sundin. The odds of him being here when the team is again a real contender are kind of low.

Well he might be here, but he sure as hell won’t be the same G. (Tears)

Time to hire Sutter and demote Hakstol to assistant coach. Sutter would bring some much needed defensive responsibility to the team while Hakstol could focus on player development.

Wow D Corp devastated by injuries, team bleeds odd man rushes, gives up a lead in the third period and loses in OT... Sounds too familiar

That was pathetic in OT...phantoms holding the puck even bringing it to their zone...but they don't change and Laval does...phantoms turn it over and completely gassed the new Laval players go the other way and score....wow

Can you explain further? I think young players can be defensively responsible

Sutter relies on vets. You think we see a lot of Weise now?

Someone said tippet earlier as well. He literally got fired for never playing kids and not thinking he could modernize his system.

But who knows who would of thought torts would adapt and become a progressive coach?

Provorov sick of losing saw him throw some hits today. The hit on Marchand should not have been a penalty.
The Giroux goal that was waved off was a joke.
Top 5 pick baby.

Relying on vets isn't a bad thing except when it's Dale Weise.

Let's check in and see how our rebuild comps to the hawks and kings since people like to bring them up

Heres what the Hawks did in 08-09 4th year of rebuild
104 points....5 game losing streak was their longest

Heres what the kings did in 09-10 4th year of rebuild
101 points....4 game losing streak was their longest

Right on track!

I missed that. Who got benched? Voracek? Giroux? Couturier?

It was the man with the most scoring chances generated to that point. But it doesn't surprise me you weren't paying attention with the nature of your usual perspective.

I was definitely paying attention. Subjective scoring chances in one game don't make Konecny the most dangerous offensive player for the team. That's one of the 3 players I mentioned.

I'm not sure who made the claim that Konecny was the most dangerous offensive player for the team this year but it certainly was not me.

It would be helpful to have constructive dialogue if you were to read my posts before responding to them.

I'd also like to look out for you and advise that you shouldn't go around defending playing Weise, Lehtera, AMac and advocate for benching Konecny in a 3 goal deficit for the aforementioned forwards. It's rough to witness a man with such such a disconnect from reality.

This is year 3 for Hextall/Hakstol. Not sure when Sutter or Q joined those clubs. And can a team bounce from bad to 100 sure can. And with this plan is think if they do that bounce it may be sustainable unlike the Avs.
