dom had one blah year here, 95-96
2.83 GAA vs the usual 1.87 to 2.27 gaa
yet his save % only dipped from normal .930 to .920 - homiedclown
That .1 =1 more goal every 100 shots (or a little less than one more goal per every 4 games)
With how those teams didn't score for him my guess is that's a loss instead of a win or tie |

Athletes not involved in the probe are allowed to compete under neutral colors.
Alex Ovechkin to leave Washington to compete for the newly created "Team Asia", which is mysteriously composed of KHL players except for two: Ovechkin and one Chinese guy that never sees the ice during the tournament. |

Correction. It has no direct impact to how good a player is in the NHL.
players don't "get good" by playing in the AHL. - ImThatGuy
i agree to an extent, like grigorenko wouldnt have magically been good if he didn't get rushed to the NHL
but i do think its slightly harmful to have a player in the NHL when they aren't ready |

Jochfr does, obviously, as he had his pooptnig pants on already last night. - Der Kaiser
Once I crawled on top of one of my coaches car to stick my bare ass in the sunroof and fart...I pushed to hard and pooped a little on his center console between the two seats. When I jumped off the car and hobbled my way into the store bathroom I found adult diapers and wore one for the rest of the day. |

This char has zero to do with anything.
A) What did those players contribute?
B) how many made an impact?
C) how does one have more than 23 people on an opening day roster?
I can post charts too that prove absolutely nothing. |

However that team is scoring more than the Eichel, Kane, ROR, Okposo, Reinhart (who is playing worse than Derek Plante) - Stripes77
that team only scored 211 goals
tad over 2.5 per game
this team is scoring what, 2.1 per game
we would be .500 or better with dom in net in his prime |

That team had Ray, May, Barnaby and Bougner too. It was a different era. Although I wouldn't mind having more toughness on the current team. - adambuffalo

Maybe not, but a player may not be ready for the NHL. I would be willing to bet that going straight to the NHL has hurt more players. I don't think spending time in the AHL has hurt anyone's career (not accounting for injuries that could have happened in either league.) |

Nobody said players get good in the AHL
Players develop in the AHL
Players learn how to be pros in the AHL, players learn how to win in the AHL (WINNING CULTURE) which was how this entire conversation began. |

Brian Campbell was an example of someone who could have used time in the AHL. However, he eventually figured it out. If you're good enough, and you have the mental fortitude, you will eventually succeed in this league, minor league time or not. |

Nope there was an argument a few days ago with another poster who said that playing in the AHL or winning in the AHL doesn't matter.
When clearly teams feel that's the best place for a player to develop. - Stripes77
If it matters so much...
then how do u explain how Tampa, NyR, Washington, StL, San Jose & Chicago are all at the bottom of that list?
That chart seems way too generic to draw ANY conclusion,
Especially that u SHOULD develop guys in the AHL (since there’s so many good teams at the bottom) |

you need to have a core in rochester for that though
we really didn't have that core until this year, since the lockout year |

This team is on pace for 172 goals
That's a 39 goal drop off.
This is not a .500 team with Dom in net
18 games this season the Sabres have scored 2 or less goals out of 27 games...

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have reached the Calder Cup Playoffs in each of the last 15 seasons, the longest current run in the AHL (Pittsburgh’s current 11-year streak is the longest in the NHL), all while helping develop players for four Stanley Cup Finalists and two Cup champions to date. The Milwaukee Admirals have won five division titles and appeared in 14 postseasons during their 16 AHL campaigns, and boast 19 alumni on the NHL’s Western Conference champions this year.

It basically means you are a mediocre goalie on a team that gives up too many shots. If you carry a .930 or up it means your team gives up low quality shots |

I don't see how anyone can argue that a Hasek in or near his prime would not carry this team. He carried the worst team in Sabres history |

So you’re saying a goalie who give up 3 goals on 20 shots against gives the same performance as a goalie who gives up 3 goals on 35 shots against?
Come on man
That’s not even arguable |

This makes much more sense in trying to prove the AHL matters than that worthless chart
HOWEVER...
it doesn’t take into account that teams in the AHL have Vets on them who are most often their key scorers & icetime guys
It’s not purely a league with prospects like the NCAA or Canadian JRs |
