Nice write up. What I would tell Wilson and Erod if i were Housley is that their job is to end their shift with an offensive zone faceoff. Set the table for the top 2 lines to take ozone draws. Take stupid shots, feed the D for point shots. Just give Oreilly and Eichel the chance on the next play - jcragcrumple

Where is Reinhart's role/place on this team going forward? There's no center spot for him (not that he's been that great at center), and his wing play has earned him 3rd and 4th line minutes. For being in the last year of his ELC, he's not showing the organization much reason to keep him. - bblaine
i'm all for letting the season play out with him...he made a sick move from behind the net last night to feed lars at the crease but he couldn't connect |

It’s getting shaky, for sure
I thought he’d be out of his “slump” by now
He’s gotta step it up |

that would be a flyers-type move and actually makes some sense...methinks they'd let him bring back the death-stare and return to the crazed goalie he once was |

ERod makes Rino expendible; trade him for D prospect and a pick. Do whatever we have to do to keep Kane. Pray that Bogo keeps his ass off the injury report and his head out of his ass. Lehner + for Simmonds!
If we beat Chicago on Friday it will seem like a damn playoff win...pathetic, but true. |

I think he's top 10 in the league from behind the net, no joke. I'm not sure how valuable that is, but that is his best area |

Not that Lehner’s terrible...
but I think he’s a mid-range starter at best, probably in the 20th best range
And the will get u beat in most playoffs series
So for me,
I think we need to look elsewhere |

We’re in 31st...
so it means he can use that to arbitrarily get rid of ppl he doesn’t like,
while giving others a pass that he does like |

What does a 16th overall pick from 2011 have to do with the 8th pick from 2016?
If in 4 years Nylander is the same player as Armia, there's a problem.
If in 2 years we never give Nylander a chance, then include him as a throw in for a bad contract D man, and a good forward who will be a UFA before we exit the bottom of the standings, there's another problem.

armia didn't prove himself on a consistent basis in Rochester...
the book on him was that he disappeared often but did some great things when he showed up...as got near the end of his time with buffalo, he was finding out that the angrier he played, the more engaged he became and the better he was on the ice |

There's so much bullpoop in here it's amazing.
How about this.
Armia is a first round miss - stats that you described as "dreadful" - but for months you've been telling us how solid he turned out after he was sent off in a trade you never liked.
Nylander may or may not wind up as a first round miss - it could well go that way - but he's still on a typical development arc. And you spent the last while telling us that he's dreadful.

Sam is 276th in nhl scoring from in front of the net.
That should be a red flag, even for the reinhart fans. If he was bring some intangibles to the table such as speed, aggressive play or defensive awareness : I could understand the faith but, he isn't doing anything above average. |

Right, I don't dispute that, and that has translated into him being an average scorer at the NHL (He does well relative to ice time)
So that's damming for Nylander then, correct? |

There is, coming from your end.
I might as well just say Nylander is the same as Bobby Sanguinetti, cause, you know, the 8th, 16th, and 21st picks are all the same thing, right? |

I have officially surrendered on Lehner.
I like him a ton, but I watched him sprawling out on the ice last night and thought to myself "mother of god." I thought for a long time it was just about tuning up the raw elements, and the team coming to understand that he will give up the rebound so they need to be ready.
But high glove he sucks, and given the fact that he does give up the first rebound, (or commits as hard as he does on the first move) he needs to get back faster than he can.
It's over. |
