If i were a pastor or a priest, my church would only have historically accurate depictions of Jesus. None of this Nordic Jesus stuff. I want Saddam Jesus

The problem is we don't know what he looked like and you're spot on with the alterations.
What you're unintentionally stating was coined the regulative principle by later reformers for the very reason you state.
This isn't the first time a bunch of idiots believed per say, the world is flat. Jesus was the first Harry Houdini that made a bunch of gullible people believe in lies - 51_Killer
Bettman (frank)ed the whole free world not letting the players go play. He really (frank)ed USA hockey, we might have had our best team ever. - Buffalo--Sabres
Team Canada was shaping up to be an abomination. PA PArenteau was the only star, and I use the word star loosely, on the team. Average age of the proposed team was 33. I hope Canada and the USA come to their senses and put a Junior team of all-stars in there. It would be fun to watch them work the old washed up NHL'ers

There's plenty of blame to go around. The IOC is as much to blame as Bettman is. Bettman works for the owners. Opposition to the Olympics among the owners has been growing. Then the IOC decided they weren't going to pay the travel and insurance costs. The IIHF offered to do it instead, but by then it was too late. The owners felt they officially had nothing to gain from this venture.
If the IOC did this to the NBA, and the NBA players had to play their Olympic games in-season. You would see the same result.

It all depends on what Russia does. If they don't let the KHL players play as part of a neutral team (or for their own countries), you will most likely see a more junior-oriented team out of the US and Canada.

Yes, I believe the article said 12 on Canada's roster currently play in the KHL. It will be interesting to see what happens. They should just implement a rule that you must be under 24 to compete in olympic hockey but i guess that would be unfair to the rest of the sports that do not have age restrictions

So the government, started by Aristotle thousands of years ago, formulated this plan, then the Catholic church rejected it for 1500 years, but it was finally brought back.
