What does a 16th overall pick from 2011 have to do with the 8th pick from 2016?
If in 4 years Nylander is the same player as Armia, there's a problem.
If in 2 years we never give Nylander a chance, then include him as a throw in for a bad contract D man, and a good forward who will be a UFA before we exit the bottom of the standings, there's another problem. - sbroads24

@TSNBobMcKenzie
1m1 minute ago
Forwards not going to final camp who were invited to summer camp: Will Bitten (MTL), Matthew Phillips (CGY), Cliff Pu (BUF), Michael Rasmussen (DET), Mason Shaw (MIN), Givani Smith (DET), Owen Tippett (FLA), Adam Mascherin (FLA), Tyler Benson (VAN), Gabe Vilardi (LA). - GilPerreault11
Not shocked that’s what happens when you suck for the first half
Now he has to shut them up by playing at the Pace he’s at right now

I would be curious to see if Sweden tries to get Nylander for the World Juniors. His coach didn't include him on the summer roster because he felt Nylander would make the Sabres roster. The injury changed that. |

There's so much bullpoop in here it's amazing.
How about this.
Armia is a first round miss - stats that you described as "dreadful" - but for months you've been telling us how solid he turned out after he was sent off in a trade you never liked.
Nylander may or may not wind up as a first round miss - it could well go that way - but he's still on a typical development arc. And you spent the last while telling us that he's dreadful.

Cute puppies. - Der Kaiser
can't overlook how putrid that rochester team was last year. Someone tracked stats for the rookies last year and Nylander wound up top 5 in scoring chances generated despite that poop heap of a lineup.

There is, coming from your end.
I might as well just say Nylander is the same as Bobby Sanguinetti, cause, you know, the 8th, 16th, and 21st picks are all the same thing, right? - sbroads24
Well, after a few years, yes. Let's be real: NHL players aren't valued by their draft position. They're valued by their skill set and effectiveness. So if they suck, they suck. And if they're dreadful, they're dreadful. And if they're good, they're good. And if they're great, they're great.
But they always get the chance to come into their prime to see which of those they are going to be. They're not cast in stone at 19 years of age. So with Armia and Sanguinetti, we can say who they are; They are "sucks." With Nylander, it still remains to be seen before we call him anything: whether it be dreadful, suck, good or great.
There's only so thin you can slice the baloney, and you still wind up with two sides. |

Is this something that’s happening today ? Saw the TSN tweet from Simpson but questioned if he’s credible. |

Arguable
Lehner sucking-Not arguable - MCGUIZZY
I just went to the biggest Flyer Fan in my office to break the tie. You know, the one with the Dave Poulin jersey framed. Said he's a bust of a pick. He won't do anything for the Sabres or anywhere else like he doesn't do anything for Flyers. You probably know better than him though.
Wayne Train would be awesome. I don't know the Sabres could afford him, but I imagine Scoracek could be had to get out of his contract. |

It's a weird trade. What are the Flyers giving up? Cant be much. And they aren'y moving a young player for Lehner. But Lehner is 26 so could he rebound? It's just a weird trade when you put it together. |

Well, nothing.
But if Alex Nylanders 0.5ppg is "dreadful," why is Colin White's 0.5ppg "good" (or at least "a travesty to throw away in a trade")? |
