I think he's proven over his almost two and a half years here that he's a guy that doesn't push the needle.

In a Dan Byslma system, he's right where Nilsson was, which was decent in terms of Sv%. In a Housley system he's a tire fire at times, like Johnson has mostly been this year.

I'd be fine if they extended him 2-3 years at 3 mil, and leave the door open for a true #1 to come in at some point, and I'd also be fine moving him.

I don't think it's that dire, although hard to argue with the current record. Like you've pointed out before, I think this team is missing a clear #2 and by extension a complete core.
