Yes, I believe the article said 12 on Canada's roster currently play in the KHL. It will be interesting to see what happens. They should just implement a rule that you must be under 24 to compete in olympic hockey but i guess that would be unfair to the rest of the sports that do not have age restrictions

I lived it!! I had upwards of 6+ ft of snow at my house... it was the most incredible weather event I have ever seen...

The Amerks have seen better success this season but when you look at their roster, too many of their players are career AHL players brought in specifically play AHL hockey and make the team competitive. Only Guhle, Ullmark, Nylander, Baptiste and maybe Smith and Bailey are NHL "prospects". Considering how badly Murray managed assets it makes sense

That was the point. The culture argument. Make them good, so that when kids coming out of Junior or from Europe come into Rochester the team is playing well and they can get confidence playing against better competition instead of getting stomped every night.

Also a strong veteran presence (the correct kind) is good to teach kids how to be professionals. Just because they have the skill doesn't mean they know how to handle the grind of an 82 game season and all the travel that comes with it.

It would be soooooo fun if the NHL had "loans" for the playoffs.
